  1. Keep him, I say. If he is as good as he and we think he is (but clearly no one else does) then what he can do for us as a club in those two seasons would outweigh anything we would get for him.
  2. Just another nobody craving attention.
  3. Micah Richards? How much did we spend on him? about 65k every single week Also if you have a look at the takeover thread, there would be no spending embargo.
  4. He really just dwelt on the ball too long last season, and if he can sort that, he will be a big player for us. I think Sherwood likes him, as he is a positive player.
  5. You will need to explain this one, Useless.
  6. Jack grealish's brother didn't help that one Yeah agreed Richard, I hope Kevan also learns something from this. I also hope that we never see Jack in the press again for anything other than footballing reasons, not because I think him getting drunk is wrong far from it but it's because I'm honestly worried that Villa will decide to terminate his contract. I doubt that it's anywhere near that yet but if he continues to get in comprising situations where people are going to take photos to use against him at some point it might. I absolutely agree with this, SeanO, I put the same in an earlier post.
  7. Clark. Ciaran Clark has strung a couple of months decent form together...we're not talking about a season in season out experienced premier league defender quite yet. Can Clark keep it up or will his form nosedive again? I'd rather he just concentrate on his own game than be given the leadership role in the back 4. It is what Clark does naturally. Still disappointed he was not made captain - he is a natural.
  8. This sort of behaviour has become much more prevalent than when I was a teenager, way back in the mists of time. It happened then, too, but not to the same extent. It has become almost acceptable now, and that is ok, things change, the present generation is different. My concern here is that Grealish has to be more careful or he will destroy a very promising career. He has been warned already, and all it takes is for a headstrong manager like Sherwood to decide he will not be messed around with, and Grealish is out the door, and we have lost what I think will be a very good player.
  9. WTF... where did you come from big boy? 208 posts and for number 208 I want to punch your sad ass face. What the hell did you post for the rest? I am actually quite happy for Villa to classed with those other losers you name. Anyway Mr f'in big boy loser who is your team and why are you on here posting? Pretty sure he's a Villa fan. Just a slightly odd one. Odd for sure. You certainly got that bit right.
  10. I know this is a speculation thread and therefore for discussing links, rumours, etc., but we should remember that that is all they are. Some posters are getting overly exercised about things that may never happen.
  11. We do not have to sell if the release clause is not met. We will not get any more than the release clause. No matter about the performances, that fee is set.
  12. Too early to make that sort of rather silly judgement. I supported Lambert for two seasons, so I will give Sherwood some time as well. One thing he has definitely done is pull us out of the hole that Lambert had burrowed us into, and at this stage keeping us in the League was as much as I hoped for. If he proves to be deficient in the coming season, we can jettison him happy in the knowledge that he carried out the most important part of his remit..
  13. Well, due diligence can drag on for months, so it would be unreasonable to expect all activities to be suspended for that duration.
  14. A lot of the adverse reaction on here seems to be about the £65,000/week. Do we know if that is figure is correct?
  15. Absolutely nothing to suggest they will change the manager straight away though. We don't even know who these new owners are. In that case absolutely nothing to suggest that they won't. History suggests they are likely not to.
  16. You cannot really look at it that way, though, unless you also want to consider the number of sitters other teams missed against us? Then there are the one on ones we missed? And late goals count the same as early goals, no matter what stage of the game the trick is to keep the ball out of the net. My point? Swings and roundabouts, it is as it is.
  17. Why would spurs do that when the 32.5m would activate the release clause? That post was in reply to a suggestion that we should accept £20M plus Dembélé and Townsend. If Tottenham want to fob us of with players that they don't want then so be it, but they still have to meet the release clause. If they meet the release clause without offering the players then fair enough. All I'm saying is that I'd want £32M from them. They only have to meet the release clause. Why on earth would they give us two players for nothing? Why don't you understand this? Why can't you understand that I'm not saying that if Tottenham offer us £32M and activate the release clause, we should refuse the bid and insist they give us an extra two players. I'm saying if they offer us £20M and a few players we should reject the bid and tell them that the release clause is £32M if they then want to offer us players too then that's up to them. Ok, Useless - I give up.
  18. The thing is, P3te, I can understand the Burnley match, but we were not safe for the Southampton match, so that match, and the cup final, we should certainly have been up for, so that is a worry for me.
  19. I really cannot see anyone meeting the release clause. And I also do not think we will sell for less.
