McCormack, Hogan, Hourahane, Lansbury.
All attacking players who have not attained the levels of performance they reached at their previous clubs.
Can this be changed or will the attacking aspect of our game next season once again be disappointing.
I don't really like this deal. We have been stung so many times with older players on a last payday.
Is this really the best our expensively assembled management team can do?
I am less optimistic than I was at the beginning of last season, and as I was again when Bruce came in.
I have no enthusiasm for the upcoming season, only dread.
This post does not make sense. He did exactly what he is there for.
If all the players had done their job to the level he did, we would have been in a much better position.
I think the decision has already been made, and we can only hope that it is the right one. I am, however, not convinced, and although we can continue to debate the issue, we can now really only wait and see how it turns out.
We probably all would want promotion regardless of how it is achieved. The problem is that many of us believe that we will not achieve promotion playing the kind of football that Bruce has the team playing.
Perhaps the club needs to look at whoever is making these decisions, or the criteria we use to make them, as we do seem to be losing some talented players. These players are performing better than some of our present players.
I don't get this. A new manager coming in in October? And expected to do what Bruce could not do?
It will be too late then.
It would appear that the die has been cast, so we have to hope that Bruce is up to the task, as the longer we are down in the Championship the more difficult it will be to get out of it.
It is not that I expect the manager to coach the players to be individually better. Many of our players have shown themselves to be very accomplished at previous clubs. The problem is that there is no cohesion as a team, and that surely is down to the manager.
We were close to the play off positions, we knew money would be available from the owner, and we had brought in the `expert' in gaining promotions.
I am surprised anyone would have doubted that Bruce could not at least get us into the playoffs.
