This! I thought he played well considering his one shoulder is locked! Ashley Young & Milner played well tonight... Shame couldn't have buried our chances!

Maybe Albrighton for Heskey and put 5 in midfield. Too many times it's hoof up to Carew & Heskey & we lose the ball. Delph & Young looks very promising. Milner ...class above... he's everywhere!

Milner is playing well but Delph has threaded two lovely balls to Young for both penalties!

I don't know I'm not a football manager - I'm just a supporter. I think it's a bit of a CBs Merry Go Round at the moment. On the balance of all the evidence Distin is MON's first choice I would think.

I meant to say of course NRC was brilliant... but TBH I don't think there was one bad performance last night.. Ashley Young wasn't so effective going forward but then his job was to keep an eye on Glen Johnson. Also noticed - Gabby looked a much better threat again playing on his own & then we break Ashley Young backs him up. Good stuff!

It was Sidders who won it on the ground just infront of our penalty area & managed somehow to kick it to Petrov - who ran with the ball until Lucas, as would have it bundled into him over for the free kick... the rest is, as they say, history! I've just watched the game again & we played really well.. By NO means was it all Liverpool. They couldn't commit all out attack because you could see them with one eye on the counter attack.... Brad Fiedel was phenomenal Cuellar, Davis were brilliant and I thought Beye, Shorey and Milner were as well & Not forgetting Sidwell & Petrov because they really held the middle. Mascherano looked the best of Liverpool but he's so cynical at times.

I was chatting on MSN to an ex Redscouse flame while both watching the stream.. He called Gerrard a w***** when he gave away the penalty was quality!.. Mind you some Scousers saying it wasn't a penalty Coco Pops dived!!..Conned again by the ref with the corner...bla bla bla WHAT???!!!

Apparently whole is better for you because it contains all the goodness... BUT It's the fat content! Semi in tea & Coffee Always have skinny latte in Starbucks/Costa etc.... milk froths better with skimmed So I buy skimmed to to make milky drinks that are not fattening.

We won the midfield battle tonight with 4-5-1...but there will be times we need to revert to 4-4-2... Great stuff though! Having a bad time at the moment but this makes me feel a whole lot better!

Just got home from the game. That was awful... It's my brother's fault - the last home game he went to was Sunderland at home a couple of years and we lost 1-0 and played abysmally!! The first 15 minutes we looked like we would overrun them...as soon as they scored it was like back to O'Leary days. .. just woeful!

Ken McNaught names Clark as MOTM... Good performance ...we've got some talented youngsters...that's for sure.. Albrighton is just an absolute gem.....he's going to be a star!

Good first half... Delph has looked quality... not afraid to put his foot in Thought Heskey & Agbonlahor have looked good. Gabby looks like the rest has done him good... Young, Milner and Gardner all done well Clark is coping well but started to lose concentration towards the end of the half Lichaj is getting better every time I see him. As for Fiorentina ..started poorly but began to click towards the end of the half..looked dangerous in patches...

General I agree entirely with those comments..... I for one am proud of my football club.....what MON, RL & the team have done for Aston Villa FC, the ground, the Holte Pub, what they've done for Acorns and the Shirts, the young talented English based squad - not to mention our standing with past, present and potential players and in the world of football........ it's just nice to read comments from other clubs acknowledging it's professionalism. Would that happen anywhere else? It just saddens me that some fans seem to forget so easily........EXACTLY how far we've come. With regard to all the critiscm concerning the lack of transfers all I can say is Someone said this on a thread ages ago and I've never forgotten the words.... I keep repeating it ...EVERY transfer window. Just because WE don't know what MON is doing.... DOESN'T mean MON doesn't know what he's doing.. Well done to all.

Yippers Hulk gets golden boot Ashley Young won player of the tournament, he was presented with his medal and trophy before Juventus got there runners up medals...shame!!! Personally I think it could well have gone to Albrighton or Guzan... They were outstanding throughout....but not as well known as Mr Young
