  1. Awful stream in 1st half but excellent for the whole of the 2nd.. We look like a team bang in form at the moment who fear no one....... Long may it continue!
  2. We're passing the ball much better ...Moving Milner into CM & the addition of Downing has made a real footballing difference. Excellent tonight so far with a few minutes to go.
  3. I'm glad the fact that £167BN worth of toxic overseas mortgages being dumped on the jolly old UK taxpayer this week got an airing on VT....c/o Sir Fred & his former band of merry men from RBS and that wonderful invention of Gordon Brown's - The Asset Protection Scheme... ho hum To summarise..... The PBR on Wednesday published that the UK national budget deficit currently stands at a whopping £178BN... If this latest addition to the collection goes belly up on the Treasury...it will have single handedly almost doubled our national debt, which is in a dire state as it is....AND that's not including ANY of the already mind boggling figures held in the asset protection scheme... I've read a fair few alarmist columns in the past few weeks about a coming run on the pound (& dollar)...because of the TRUE state of UK PLC ....... TBH reading this lot these reports are starting to have slightly unnerving truthful undertones to them. With the news that Dubai & Greek economies are teetering on bankruptcy this week...WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
  4. Milner..... Warnock, Petrov, Dunne & Collins not far behind ....Special mention for Gabby too... he's just getting better & better.
  5. Brilliant... Gabby got MOTM quite rightly but I thought everyone deserved a 10 for effort. Special mention for Petrov who I thought made ESPN's stupid comment about Villa NOT having a ball winner in the middle of the park look totally stupid!! AND an extra kiss for Villa's fitness coach... We are simply THE fittest team in the Premier League...END OF!!!
  6. THIS completely..... BUT I'd just like to add I've just had a text & it's manic o/s Old Trafford with the Villa fans celebrating & another highlight has to be the Mancs faces!!..PRICELESS!!!
  7. Watchin on ESPN at home..... Great 1st half.... Look really up for this!! Long way to go though.... Owen on 2nd half for Man U
  8. Just announced on Villa tannoy, heard on OS comms ...Aston Expressway closed in both directions...must have been an accident of some sorts... I didn't go but it'll be hellish leaving Villa Park tonight that's for sure!!
  9. Hi General, Not posting much because manically busy but one of NW Villa fans approached me today @ Burnley game & asked if I'd post to you that he'd been in the Nike store in Manchester & there wasn't even a pair of Villa socks for sale!.. Nike should know that there are some Villa fans in the NW area & we should have a presence in the shop.
  10. Point today wasn't too bad a result...was quite an entertaining old fashioned blood & guts encounter! Ref completely lost it...I wonder what marks he'll be given for that debacle when FA watch the replay?! If we can win on Wednesday V Spammers away, we will potentially move into a decent league position.
  11. I keep forgetting we have Downing waiting in the wings..... Hope he makes a big difference....Smoggies used to drool over him anyhow
  12. Yep...I thought so too... not forgetting we lost Milner at HT, which effected our attacking ability. Warnock was immense today....the header he put in to stop Cahill scoring near the end was brilliant... Collins was also an absolute rock in defence, Dunne not far behind & I thought Cuellar played well at RB today. Sidwell put in alot of work in the middle of the park as did Petrov against a tough & very decent Everton Midfield.
  13. Real blood & thunder game this! Both teams going for the win....very physical! Everton Red looked harsh...... Cuellar's Red was an absolute joke! Decent point in the end...
  14. Brad Guzan...absolutely top draw....... Brilliant...I think I'm going to drive over to Scotch Corner to wave the convoy home!
  15. I thought Kevin Doyle & Ebanks-Blake would cause us problems... Need to up it a gear 2nd half.
  16. Nice to see Luke Young on the bench. Hope he gets a run out today.
  17. Any midfield partnership, that can cope with the likes of Essien, Lampard, Barry, Malouda etc & come out on top ain't half bad.
  18. It was surely going to be the case, after forming such a strong partnership with Gareth Barry in midfield for the past 2 seasons, that Petrov would take a few games to get used to playing with a new CM in whatever system we played this season. The same goes for the rest of the team. This appears to have been overlooked by many and MON villified for playing him as part of CM, yet against both Man City & Chelsea's quality midfields I thought he was simply outstanding as others have said. I do agree against teams that play a more physical game like Wigan, Blackburn et al MON may need to fall on the 4-5-1 but in the last 2 home games the 4-4-2 with Petrov & Sidwell has worked a treat.
  19. Hi General. Many thanks for this I will indeed ring Nicky. Someone has been in touch to tell me that Villa indeed have an area for partially sighted people in the lower Trinity AND they have access to headsets.
  20. Hi General Hope you're health is improving. Does Villa Park have any facilities for partially sighted spectators at all?... only my Mum has a problem with her eyesight which has required major surgery and she's now registered as partially blind. We went to Wigan game but from Upper North Stand she couldn't see much at all (which was no bad thing as I told her at the time!).. I managed to take her to a reserve fixture a week or so after the operation V Wolves which she enjoyed because she sat closer to the pitch, but I just wondered if you had any suggestions, who I might talk to at Villa Park as I'd love to take her to some home fixtures to cheer her up.
  21. Cumbria.. ...Does that count as "elsewhere in England" or "abroad"??!! ...however that's only part time at moment as I'm looking after my Mum in Gt Barr alot who is poorly and in any case......I'm probably going to be working through a firm based in Henley-in-Arden - so going forward should be spending a wee bit more time in Brum, and of course will probably coincide with Villa home fixtures, as it happens....
  22. Who was on Man Ure's books....and FWIW....who's cousin roomed with my son in Newcastle apparently
  23. I'm going tonight and taking my Mum because I'm staying with her at moment looking after her after her major op to save her sight. Have to say what an awesome job the City Eye Hospital have done, with one of the best surgeons there is apparently! She's been very poorly guys, so I'm hoping this game cheers her up! UTV
  24. This!! Only slight consolation is that we've still got a game in hand over some of the teams around us.... Does this mean you'll be watching X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing tonight Rob?
  25. The stream has been woeful but from what I've seen this game was crying out for NRC in the middle of the park... Heskey coming on for Delph?!??!!!. Weird decision by MON!!
