  1. Do you honestly believe any decent players are going to want to come and join us well we languish in the bottom three though? GH needs to get the squad fighting to stay in this league, just as all the other squads around us (now mostly above us) are doing. We have, on paper, an excellent selection of players - good enough to finish 6th in fact and if a manager can't motivate those players well enough to even gain a respectable placing then he is no kind of manager.
  2. We really are deep in the doodoo. There is no way on this planet that GH has it in him to get us 6 wins out of those last 17 games.
  3. The Sunderland was a must win game and we failed to win it. In the end the point we got at the Chelsea game was only a good point if we had won tonight. Sack GH now and replace him as quickly as possible. In all honesty I can't imagine any manager getting less out of these players than GH has. He should have gone after the Liverpool game when it became obvious his heart wasn't in it. Sack him we stand a chance of staying up, keep him and we will go down.
  4. Excellent performance considering just how bad we have been lately. Begs the question as to why we have had so little commitment up until now? Now we need to take that fire and performance into the Sunderland game and get all 3 points.
  5. I wouldn't question why our players have the yellows they have garnered but the ref should be equal to both teams and at least Terry (for man handling the ref at the penalty) and Essien should be in the book as well. The Ref is biased.
  6. Well thats us beat... just a matter of how many now.
  7. If we can stop them scoring in the first half then we have a chance. If we let them score in the first 20 minutes then we will collapse. My prediction: 5-0 to Chelsea.
  8. Absolute shit. Houllier has clearly lost the team. He needs to go and now.
  9. I said before the game that Houllier was a dead man walking and it was just a question of when to sack him rather than if... Sack Houllier now and we still have chance to get in a different manager for the transfer period.
  10. These players don't want to play for Houllier. He has lost the dressing room, if in fact he ever had it. Giving Houllier a transfer period will just mean having a couple of extra players who don't want to play for him.
  11. Well done Downing. It is important for us to keep Downing and Albrighton on our wings, they are our threat.
  12. The reason for our results is CLEARLY due to the centre of midfield. We're playing 5th choice players there AT BEST at the moment - and these players are young, very inexperienced and in the case of Clark, out of position. It's pretty obvious that due to this, teams cut through us too easily which puts the back four under an IMMENSE amount of pressure. No team in the league could cope with what we are coping with, so it's no surprise that we are conceding so many goals. Whilst the injuries are certainly a factor in the results that is absolutely no excuse for the team out on the pitch not to give 100% effort. At the moment they are not doing this and Houlliers actions on Monday night were merely the tipping point. Houllier needs results and he needs them fast, starting with the must win game against WBA.
  13. This really is an absolute must win game. Anything other than a win and the rising tide against Houllier may just drown him.
  14. They are some disgraceful quotes from 'our' manager, coupled with the touching of the Liverpool sign in the tunnel in front of the cameras. What are your thoughts on this?
  15. Hi General, Out of interest did Houllier apply for the Villa job or was he 'head hunted' by the board? I ask simply because he doesn't look like a man that particularly cares what is going on at the club at the moment and looks more like an aging tourist having a look round some of his old favourite haunts. Even with injuries I still expect the team that goes out onto the pitch to try and win the game. At the moment I fear they are reflecting the current managers lackadaisical air. Thanks, Dave p.s. Martin Jol is a free agent I believe.
  16. Well that really was seriously poor. We made a, quite frankly, rubbish Liverpool team look good. What most worrys me is that we don't look like we have any fire in our bellies. Houllier clearly does not inspire this group of players and infact does not look like he cares much about the whole situation. The news that the man who should have been our manager back in the summer (Jol) is now a free agent makes me think it could be time to cut our losses with Houllier and get the right man in.
  17. Yep its true. Wow. How to make friends and influence people...
