  1. We're going out of this. We are shit.
  2. Heskey is just the worst **** striker to ever wear a pair of football boots! What an arse!
  3. Come on Ray now say that wasn't one!
  4. No Ray Houghton you are a no nothing tit!
  5. To be fair this weird system we are playing really isn't helping him.
  6. That would make me an unhappy bunny so I am going to pretend it is unlikely so I can live in hope of us getting a good manager.
  7. Macdonald wanting the job or not should be irrelevant - he should not even be in the running. We need a manager with proven credentials. If KMac wants to manage then he should learn his trade in the lower leagues and work his way up. I would rather have Curbishley than Macdonald.
  8. What about taking three weeks to employ someone who could have been appointed at any point, but spending the aforementioned three weeks performing an exhaustive yet fruitless* search for a new manager who has more experience / better pedigree / "insert alternative desirable characteristic here"? *because of lack of availability, contract wrangles etc. That would be a great vote of confidence to the new manager - 'we tried to get in a really good manager, but unfortunately they were all busy.. so we ended up with you. Good luck!' Sorry, i'm just feeling exceedingly cynical about the whole situation at the moment.
  9. I wonder how people can possibly know the length of time it takes to find, assess and hire a manager. Is there a book or something that says it takes 3 weeks? 8) Thank you for your usual witty/ patronising post. Taking over three weeks, or however long to appoint the right man because there are complications ie he is currently employed etc. is absolutely fine. I have no problem with this at all. Taking over three weeks to employ someone who could have been appointed at any point smells of 'playing the system'. Maybe I just hugely cynical.
  10. Can you find me the quotes where the club said, 'we will defiantly have a manager in for the Newcastle game' Thanks. I doubt Richard can do that as I don't remember the club saying it.... ...However, if they take 3 weeks plus to appoint a man that they could have appointed at any point during that time then you have to wonder if the board were just waiting to get beyond the 1st of September to make the appointment.
  11. Do you not worry though that if we appoint someone with as limited experience as Macdonald, or a 'b-lister' of that nature, we will no longer be the 6th best team? What sort of message do you think appointing a manager like Macdonald would send to the more ambitious members of our team? If we appoint a second rate manager as boss for the season then I am willing to bet a hefty stake that we will not finish as high as sixth, infact i'd bet that finishing in the top 10 would be quite an achievement. And if we finish as low as I suspect we would then obviously our better players will want to leave for clubs that can match their ambitions. We cannot afford to appoint a second rate manager under the guise of 'stability'. Attendances will drop, our best players will leave, club income will fall and most importantly our place within the league will be be lower. More importantly for Randy his investments value will drop. We need the very best boss that we can possibly get even if this means treading on a few toes to get him and having to pay out a sizeable sum to prize him away from his current employers. Managers that are currently out of work are out of work because they have failed. If we take three weeks to appoint Kevin Macdonald or any out of work manager then that will certainly tell us where our ambitions lie - clearly not the top 6!
  12. I can only assume, by the fact that we have already taken two weeks and are seemingly no nearer appointing a manager, that Randy's target is currently employed by someone else and that we are in negotiations. If he is not employed by anyone else eg. Curbs, Sven, Southgate etc then there should be no reason why he is not at the club already. The only other scenario for me is that the board are purposely delaying the appointment until after the 1st of September to prevent any money being spent. If we appoint a new manager after that date who could have easily been brought in before it (because he was currently out of work) I shall not be a happy man!
  13. He seems more confident and it looks like he's enjoying it more than a few days ago. Although I did notice when asked whether he wanted the job permenantly he replied that he was enjoying working with the players and other coaching staff, which suggests to me their are certain aspects he is does not like... probably the media/ being in the public eye side of things.
  14. I'd rather him than Sven. Not really saying much and I think our style wouldn't change much either. Thats what I worry too... more dull football.
  15. First, he is a epitome of the cheque book manager which is not the type of manager we need. Second, he has only managed one season of club football in the last 10 years. Times have moved on since he was in is hey day. Third, he is incredibly flakey and chops and changes his jobs with the wind. That is why Sven is not for me.
  16. Had the Ireland been a stand alone deal I doubt it would go through without a manager present. As it is tied in with the Milner deal then it either has to go through now or the whole Milner deal is also off and it sounds like the deal has realistically gone to far for that to happen.
  17. So we should just let Man City dictate the price to us? If you tolerate this then your children will be next
  18. Yeah I heard its great for sending emails/ gps/ making the tea but absolutely useless as a camera unless you hold it exactly right :winkold: I'm starting to believe that we will either get the 30m we are asking for or Milly will be a Villa player next season. I just don't see us shifting on the price of this one.
  19. Wheres that freakin prayer emoticon when you need it?!!
