  1. (Said only half in jest)... Surely then as they've spent the last three months saying they are unnecessary you should have assumed they were wrong and been wearing one?
  2. As an aside, I'd recommed getting a washable one. I've been using disposable ones for weeks now and they always felt flimsy, itchy and like they were always going to fall off. Picked up cloth ones at the weekend and the difference is massive. Comfortable and feels like it would stay on during a hurricane.
  3. Carswell et al: "Why can't the snowflake generation just suck it up and think about other people, in the Blitz everyone came together and made sacrifices for the greater good. They wouldn't cope in the trenches, that's for sure" Also: "Waah, a bit of fabric over my face is icky. Stop oppressing me".
  4. This is utterly tragic stuff. Let's assume for a second that the above is true. It isn't, but let's assume. You would expect the reciprocal arrangement to also be the case, no? So the British person who is offered a job can still just go (as you erroneously believe), does that mean that the Romanian fruit picker or Polish care worker is also still able to come here if offered a job?
  5. You're probably thinking of Mr. Benn, the kids cartoon character. Or maybe Nigel Benn the boxer. Or Tony Benn, the former Labour MP.
  6. Of the x thousand members of this forum? I'm afraid that's not information that I'm privy to. I'm not sure why you think I would be. On the extremely unlikely chance that you're asking the question in good faith, I took advantage of it in my twenties. Since came back. My brother has been taking advantage of his right since he was 18, and is still doing so 15 years later.
  7. Do you mean apart from the people who already have?
  8. The thing I'm most looking forward to is getting rid of all that red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy.
  9. The lorry-park of England has more of a ring to it than the garden of England anyway.
  10. It's a bit like this thread c. 2017. I fully expect that "it'll just sort itself out" like we were assured back then.
  11. Look, if the people you play golf with are insisting that you do things on your knees, you can always just find other people to play with.
  12. Obviously they'll pay it all the lip-service going, but do they actually care all that much? They were quite happy to cut Northern Ireland loose without a second thought. And without that 59 seat block which would usually be an impediment to a Conservative majority rather than a help they'll probably see the bright side. Not to mention a new "them" to rile up their dopey culture warriors. Not to say they'd be actively trying to ditch it, but it's probably not too high up their list of priorities.
  13. It's not really a question that needs more than about three picoseconds to know that the answer is "no, of course they won't"
  14. Obviously the Washington bit needs to go too. Y'know, slaves etc. I suggest The Shenandoah Powhatans. All sorted.
  15. I would hope that he would be allowed to openly express his views. I'd then hope that everyone with an ounce of decency was then allowed to openly express the view that said player was a massive dick as a consequence.
  16. The Arctic is ice, Antarctica is land with ice on top of it. If my memory of year nine Geography stands up to scrutiny, anyway.
  17. *shrugs * Maybe. Maybe not. There are definitely people living there though, permanently or intermittently, unaware of what is going to happen and therefore doing nothing about it.
