    U.S. Politics

Joe Biden lives in Wilmington. Former Democratic nominee candidate Pete Buttigieg was mayor of South Bend, Indiana. So it's suggesting it's interesting that the two are meeting. Not sure why that would be all that interesting though, as Biden has already said his VP candidate will be a woman. So maybe the two just wanted to hang out together. And Keyblade probably didn't think the substance of the tweet was all that exciting, more the tweeter's similar MO to thetrees and his history of spotting Randy Lerner's (and others') planes into BHX and what it might have meant for Villa.
  2. The one they named the Maine version after The body of water on the right-hand side of the picture:
  3. I've spent most of the last two days in Portland Harbour, and my whole body is now the colour of the inside of a watermelon. Lovely water though.
  4. Just imagine the sort of horrendous goblin that you'd meet on there.
  5. I wouldn’t describe people's views being better represented as being a "major drawback". Besides, if the two you mention had found a seat in Parliament, maybe the Conservative party might have continued living up to its name and not felt the need to adopt their positions as party policy.
  6. Indeed. I've checked our copy, final page. "That's my mermaid, her mirror is so shiny"
  7. There is definitely massive prejudice in the mermaid community against reverse mermaids.
  8. At least these dangerous channel crossings give the "all lives matter" types a great opportunity to support these people and demonstrate that they aren't just massive racists.
  9. It's not really anything more sinister than a cash-in from what is (in my experience) the most popular set of sensory books for young toddlers. The mouse erection looks even worse on the book.
  10. Well, yes. Most of them are. If "proximity to power of my representative" were my main concern, I'd have been better off voting for the Conservative candidate. Would that have been better?
  11. Well, while still taking in the parameters of the Murray case, maybe don't (allegedly) libel people. And then nobody gets ruined by the costs of a legal case.
  12. No. I voted for the party most likely to prevent a Conservative candidate winning, and succeeded in that goal.
  13. As an under 40, I'll take sensible policy ideas, basic administrative competence and coherent strategy over "inspired by a message" thankyouverymuch.
  14. Well, presumably it just comes down to (without wanting to sound too Primary school) who started it. You'll have to explain why Laura Murray felt the need to leap in, unprompted to something that didn't relate to her and (allegedly) libel someone. To be honest, everyone involved strikes me as just needing a good clip round the ear, but I don't think there would have been lawyers involved anywhere if some angry people hadn't decided they wanted to be a bunch of dicks to somebody on the internet.
  15. Absolutely, but I'm pretty the Sunak popularity isn't going to last. All he's had to do so far is speak coherently and give away more money to people than a Chancellor ever has before in history. In those circumstances, Dr. Crippen would probably be riding high in the opinion polls. If he's still hugely popular when he's telling everyone about tax rises and service cuts then I'll be impressed, and both those things will happen before 2024.
  16. I assume there must be several then, as I thought the famous one (obviously famous only in navel-gazing, political circle-jerks like this thread) was the Laura Murray incident. And the most recent update on that I can find from April 2020 is the judge finding (in the initial "is there a case to answer" judgement) in favour of Riley.
  17. Woo hoo! Everything is going to be alright after all. [Narrator] Ed Milliband was twelve points ahead of David Cameron in 2012 [/Narrator]
  18. I'm guessing that if political activists started (allegedly) libelling him then he might.
  19. The way that some people bang on about her, you'd think she was more politically important than just the co-host of a slightly nerdy daytime quiz show. It's a bit creepy.
  20. Presumably we're miles past the point where incompetence turns into corruption, yes?
