  1. Then why are some sites still operating? If the issue is lab capacity, how does (e.g) sending Demitri to Telford for the day make his test go through a lab any quicker?
  2. That, and if somebody is sent to Telford for a test, then the sample is still going to be sent to a lab. The test being taken in Telford isn't going to get through a backlog in a lab quicker than a test taken in Croydon.
  3. He's the latest interviewee on Matt Forde's Political Party podcast. And I reckon that of the 100+ episodes I've listened to, he's the first one I've heard who seemingly had nothing to redeem him. And Forde's interviewed Tommy Robinson, Farage, Galloway, Mogg, Paul Staines and any number of other political degenerates. I've come away thinking better of every Tory scumbag he's had on, until him. Hearing Timothy talk about the Villa (Forde's a Forest fan so they were discussing the Cash transfer) made my skin crawl. I'd highly recommend the podcast in general though. An excellent way to leave one's political bubble.
  4. And this feels like pretty bad news as well.

I'd definitely recommend listening to todays - but feel free to just skip to around 25 minutes.
  6. Presumably any family with five children will have to choose one to abandon in the woods.
  7. Turns out that the ERG bell-ends have quietly removed him as chair without telling anyone, and replaced him with Bernard Jenkin. How strange.

    I think it's great.
  9. I look forward to indulging in a bit of "very specific and limited" shoplifting at some point then.
  10. Seems like a lot of people are enjoying @Demitri_C style round trips to get tested. That is quite a long "walk or cycle"
  11. And to supplement this, if they don't then the checks will likely just move to mainland Europe and it will be French and Spanish controls checking Irish lorries. Which is probably a worse look for the Irish Government.
  12. Fun fact: if James Milner plays on Saturday then he will have featured in each of Leeds' last 31 Premier League matches. Just with a 16 year gap between the 30th and 31st.
  13. He's the Prime Minister, how hard can it possibly be for him to get a suit that fits?
  14. I admire your patience.
  15. The withdrawal agreement was implemented. It is current UK law. The noise today is about changing the law because they've decided they don't like the thing they agreed last time.
  16. It may have changed since my experience at one, but when I went your booking reference is written on the envelope with your swab which you return to them, and that is how they know whose test is whose. And how they contact you with the result. So if you haven't booked, you won't be in the database to receive the result of the test. There would just be a random test floating around with no identifier.
  17. Yes, that's what those emergency Covid powers were intended for. Hopefully they're all being built in front of the houses of the dickbags that voted them into office.
  18. In reality, it’s not sixty - it's more like two or three. And even then with some pretty brutal lending requirements.
  19. While I'm pretty sure that the analysis is sound on a "making things work smoothly" level, surely the broader problem is that Labour (and everyone else) is having to play a different game on a different pitch. It's pretty clear that someone in the SNP (probably around July 2016) realised that to get what you want is to let the other side argue politics and policy, while you hammer away at the emotional message. So for every wavering voter who is convinced by a line-by-line reading of education policy, there will be four convinced by "but at least it's no the bastards in Westminster screwin' it up, eh?" Until Labour (and others) can find an emotional reason for unionism to counter the emotional reason for nationalism then the nuances between different levels of possible devolution aren't really going to win their voters back.
  20. All perfectly healthy and normal. But on the other hand, Biden once used a split-infinitive, so...
