  1. I've been doing some digging on this and believe this is where we stand (players under 21 have been omitted): Martinez(HG) Olsen Steer Cash(HG) Konsa(HG) Mings(HG) Chambers(HG) Young(HG) Digne Hause(HG) - likely to leave Carlos Guilbert - likely to leave Augustinsson Luiz McGinn Sansom Buendia Nakamba - likely to leave Kamara Coutinho El Ghazi - likely to leave Traore - likely to leave Bailey Watkins(HG) Ings(HG) Davis(HG) - likely to leave So that's 10 HG players, 2 of which are either likely to leave or are unlikely to make the squad, leaving us with the bear minimum in terms of HG quota.
  2. We've 9 and must have 8. But with so many potential outgoings, it's a close one. I'd like to see more than the bear minimum homegrown in the squad.
  3. We've also got an issue with our home grown quota.
  4. Clipart not an American phenom? Given it was a US creation and nearly all the modern sports logos have a clipart feel to them? Not sure how it's traditional either to leave out basically everything that's made the club crest iconic for the better part of the last century. The liions head reminds me of the Puma logo
  5. I'm honestly struggling to find anything positive about it... The gas lamp reminds me more of cholerae era London rather than Birmingham, the Lions head looks like a bit of generic clip art and doesn't resemble the majestic animal it should represent. The main part of the badge - all I see is the white space shaped like an N and I'm wondering what the letter N has to do with us? The abstract A and V is a distant afterthought that misses the mark. The blue seems too sky blue and the Claret looks off to me. The general shield shape is good though, but that really comes across as disingenuous after everything else. It's also missing our European star.
  6. No disrespect, but that makes me want to cry. Truly awful. Rips up everything in terms of history and tradition in favor of a soulless US style logo. Not for me.
  7. Didn't he score a diving header and nearly get kicked in the fave? Or am I mixing him up with someone else?
  8. Better than AEG? Yeah, I agree with that. Good enough for a team with aspirations of getting into a European competition? No, I don't think so. And at that price, there are certainly better options.
  9. Bad control or bad clearance take your pick. Still his fault. Put McGrath in that position and the ball goes out of play and the goal isn't scored. It's not a 9nce off it's every game. Sloppy pass, 10 yards deeper than the rest of the defence, poor control, clearance not finding touch - he's simply not good enough.
  10. Yet another disgraceful clearance from Mings. Can't wait to get a new centre half in the summer
  11. Even poor players can pass a ball. He's had plenty of time to coach them to do the basics but still the same errors game after game. Look at the turnaround at Newcastle for instance. That's the sort of impact a good coach has on a mediocre squad. SG just hasn't done that with us.
  12. Lots to do in the summer, indeed. Just not sure I trust SG to do it.
  13. Can't agree about Cash. Sloppy passing and not getting forward
  14. He does the same when Nakamba isn't playing too, so what's the excuse then?
  15. We were inconsistent before they arrived too. So, what's your point?
  16. I honestly don't see what SG and his team have brought with them. We still look like a bunch of individuals that have never played together. Dreadful
  17. Mings has so many lapses though. Even tonight loads of his "clearances" never found touch, he tripped over his own feet multiple times, hospital passes to his teammates, was often 10 yards deeper than the rest of the team, etc. Hes supposed to be the leader marshalling that defence but half the time it's in disarray.
  18. Agree. Think we will be signing 2 CBs this summer.
  19. Why is in when out of position villa players are sitting in pockets of space rather than marking?
