  1. I dont think we will necessarily 'waste' spots on the guys Sherwood wants to move on. If he recruits the players he wants before the window closes he will probably make the guys that are surplus to requirements aware of that fact and if they cant get a transfer out then they could possibly be loaned out. Failing either of those scenarios happening they will simply not be named in the squad. So worst case is that they are wasting wages but as I said, they wont necessarily waste a spot in the squad.
  2. VILLA'S AYEW OFFER ACCEPTED Lorient have accepted a bid of €14m from Aston Villa for strikerJordan Ayew, claim RMC. And the French radio station also say that the Ghana international will undergo a medical with the west Midlands club on Sunday. just come up on SSN website

That said i've got a baby due in 4 weeks so might be disappearing again Yeah congrats bud. I havent been to a game since we beat Blackburn 4-1 at VP just over 3 years ago. Its my sons 3rd birthday today! :-) No sympathy required here but my boy had his foot amputated at 11 months old, this is his prosthetic :-) http://prntscr.com/7x7mqn Hope everything's ok mate being a dad and grandad I know the pains of parenthood. Good luck to you and your son and family Dont want to put the mods in an uncomfortable position here as this is not the thread to discuss it so we'll move off the subject but I assure you hes doing great, been walking since 14 months old and does all the same stuff as the other kiddies his age. Its all good thanks bud x

  5. If we bring in a decent CB (Nkoulou or Williams) 1 or 2 CM's (from Mirallas, Cambiaso, Praet, Darder, etc) and either Embolo, Oulare or some other beast of a striker along with Ayew then I will be very happy. Realistically I cant see us spending the money required for all of that but we have a couple of loan slots available too. I dont think our business is complete so it will be an interesting few weeks. Would expect to see a few go out on loan on deadline day too.
  6. N'Zog can show them around the relaxation areas to help them settle in
  7. The rest is behind a paywall. ASTON VILLA are on the verge of a treble swoop for Esteban Cambiasso, Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew. Tim Sherwood held talks with Leicester midfielder Cambiasso, 34, on Thursday to convince the veteran to snub a potential move to West Ham. The Villa boss was also busy tabling a £6million bid for Blackburn’s wantaway striker Gestede, which would rise to £8m including add-ons. And now he has set his sights on £8m-rated Lorient forward Jordan Ayew as he looks to fill the void left by Christian Benteke’s departure to Liverpool. Ayew, 23, scored 13 goals in all competitions last season and is keen to follow his brother Andre — who joined Swansea in June — to the Premier League. Sherwood is on the hunt for two hitmen to replace Benteke and has already talked to Tottenham about Emmanuel Adebayor. But his pre-season has been disrupted by an injury to midfielder Gary Gardner, who could to be out for a month with ankle ligament trouble. Gardner was trying to impress Sherwood after spending time on loan at Nottingham Forest last season and his injury follows the sale of Fabian Delph to Manchester City.
  8. just seen this on ssn website: VILLA FACE DESTRO COMPETITION Reported Aston Villa target, Roma attacking-midfielder Mattia Destro, has attracted attention from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport. With Tim Sherwood’s side looking to reinvest the £32.5million received from Liverpool for striker Christian Benteke, reports in Italy had suggested Villa were weighing up a move for Destro. But, having sold Josip Drmic to Borussia Mönchengladbach, Leverkusen are said to be interested in signing the 24-year-old Italian.
  9. How much is West Brom up for sale for? Might be worth buying them, moving the players we want into our team, selling the ones we dont want then weighing the stadium in for scrap.
  10. Everton are interested in Belgium international Dennis Praet. Liverpool Echo
  11. With all these links to players from Ligue 1 is anybody else wondering if Hendrik Almstadt photocopied Wengers notebook on his way out of Arsenal?
  12. Randy has obviously restricted travel expenses for scouts to the Eurostar. Beauty of that being that you can take buses on the eurostar!
  13. Apparently the baggies are in for abou diaby on a free!
  14. It's because they aren't Itk. Just attention seeking and pretending to be. In some cases I believe you are right but that doesnt apply to all who post on here. Trent and Richard often post comments stating that something is in the pipeline or that we are not interested in a certain player and they are usually right. I believe they are doing is to reassure us as their AVFC brethren rather than seeking attention. Its like saying to your child that you have something planned for their birthday but cant tell them what it is. They can either trust you and wait with anticipated excitement or they can call you an attention seeking liar because you are offering nothing concrete. Its all a matter of trust and patience, or, a haters gonna hate!
  15. I understand the frustration and can sympathise but the way I see it is that if some people do have some inside information they have to be very careful how they leak it because if they blatantly come out and say we are talking to *named person* then they could expose themselves as a leak and either lose their job or lose their source. The best they can do for us is try to reassure us that something is happening and I find Richards info to be pretty accurate. Just dont ask or expect too much from guys like him.
  16. Me too. The obvious problem that we are all having trouble getting along here blatantly stems from the fact that we are impatient. Its like ordering a 60" 4k 3D smart tv then being told the delivery time is 60 days from now. We're adult men so naturally the first thing we will do is sulk. Once it arrives and is fully operational we will love it for 10 minutes and completely forget the stress that was involved whilst waiting for it. Then start moaning that the blu-ray player we own isnt the same make as the telly and we need a sound bar. The players will arrive chaps, lets just try to get along whilst we wait.
  17. No it doesn't. You need a bit of patience. We want the club to take its' time and buy well. You say that now but wait until Man City come along and activate the 4 marbles and a Twix 'buy-out' clause in Jacks contract
  18. I'd think we had signed Marouane Fellaini, for a second, then I'd realise...
  19. From SSN: 11:16 TRIO TARGET EAGLES STAR Spurs, West Ham and Aston Villa have all made enquiries for Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie. And Sky Sources are telling us the Eagles are expecting a bid from at least two of those clubs. Bolasie was particularly impressive in the second half of last season under boss Alan Pardew, even scoring a hat-trick at Sunderland.
  20. Richard said this on Tuesday (the day before yesterday) so I cant believe we have so many people already writing it off saying he was way off the mark. Since he said it our best player has left and hopefully provided us with £30m+ in the kitty. With 5 days left on his prediction I would expect some signings in. Whichever way you look at it, its already a huge week for the club.
  21. As I said a couple of days ago, Swansea will take 9-10 million for Ashley Williams. I know hes nearly 31 but hes a quality CB with prem experience and happens to be captain of Swansea and Wales. He must have 2 good years left in him.
