Also, I dont think the Praet & Darder deals are necessarily dead despite being quiet lately considering the Tekkers/Liverpool thing has been going on for a couple of weeks yet that was a simple buy-out clause case proving these things dont happen overnight. That said, Funny how teams can manage it on deadline day!

I'm gonna try and add some positivity here and say that its my guess/hope that Gueye and Amavi were sanctioned by the club out of funds from the allocated transfer kitty which had been topped up by a few sales and the considerably reduced wage bill. The additional funds raised from the sale of pinocchio is now Tims to spend but we are waiting for confirmation on the Tekkers deal before we go back in to the market as that would have an impact on how much we have available. It has not been confirmed that he has passed his medical yet so we wouldnt take the risk of spending money we are not guaranteed to get. If my theory (no matter how unlikely) is correct I would expect 3 or 4 signings in quick succesion once Tekkers is out of the door. Would defo like to see Oulare or Embolo along with a proven prem scorer, Praet & Darder which makes 4. then I would like us to give serious consideration to Ashley Williams who would be a great addition at CB for a couple of years and Kevin Mirallas or Cambiasso as all have prem experience. We still have room for a couple of loans as well. I may be a mile off the mark here but its better to hope and have one day of depressing realisation at the end of the window than assume nothing is going to happen and be miserable every day.

Ok, at the end of the season most of us agreed that apart from tekkers, delph, jack, cleverley, sinclair, clark, okore, hutton and maybe guzan, the rest of the team could do one. (although we were all pretty upset about the last 3 performances at the time). Now we have lost 2, nearly 3 and possibly 4 (guzan) of the ones we wanted to stay. strangely enough, i see it as a blessing in disguise as the wages we have free'd up, the extra funds we have generated and the type of player sherwood has been showing an interest in is proving to be the overhaul we want but never thought posiible within one transfer window (this may still prove to be the case). My point is, under lambert we were searching the lower leagues for players but now we are searching for the best young talent in europe plus a few experienced prem players (richards, adebayor and hopefully some we havent guessed yet). If you build a team of championship players you will end up with a championship team. If you build a team of european talent you end up with a european team, champions league here we come! UTV!
