  1. I guess it is hard to see the phone hiding in that cupboard under the stairs. I much prefer sitting in the toilet with it. Plus I get to kill 2 birds with one stone that way. And they say we cant multi-task!
  2. I think all women should be encouraged to just make themselves "invisible" for the entirety of transfer windows so us blokes can enjoy our bit of gossip for a change. I mean, let's face it, women spend all of their lives f**cking gossiping and do we interfere? No! We just sit there listening (pretending) and nodding our heads saying "I couldn't agree more love or, yes babe, I think that's bang out of order". Cameron, make it law already! Ban women from the transfer windows, especially those whose initials are JB **EDIT** Except for the professional women who bring us transfer news such as Natalie Sawyer. Those women help us get over the disappointment of the players we lose or miss out on and are therefore good pain relief! I find it quite difficult to concentrate on the news when she is on screen. Kate Abdo is another one. When she comes on the telly, so do I...

  4. I think signing attackers is still a priority for us. I can't see Sherwood replacing Richards and Clark and we have crespo, senderos and okore in the squad to challenge for those positions I agree. Defence is all about partnerships and getting used to the bloke next to you. We know Clarke and Okore can play alongside each other, its just a matter of Richards and Clarke gelling. For me our problems laat season were in the midfield. Cleverly played well for about 10 games, the snake did lots of running with little to no end product..... with gueye and hopefully veretout we may have a more dynamic midfield that takes pressure off the defence. Gay looked very good last night imo. He's like a wasp! Showed some really nice first touches to bring the ball under control whilst under pressure and can defo pick out a through ball.
  5. My boner is going to remain on strike until we sign a quality CB and Oulare
  6. Haven't we just signed The Count of Monte Crespo today? I think he is just for cover as hes mainly a RB that can play LB as well. We need a decent commanding CB that looks like Nikolai Valuev with a beard like grizzly adams
  7. Looks like Veretout and Adebayor are getting close. We just need a CB now
  8. Twas duly noted earlier and appropriate credz have been delivered accordingly. That was referring to last week, not this week. He didnt say This calender week, he said it was going to be a huge week. That is 7 days, he said it on a Tuesday so by my reckoning that takes us up to today. I shall say this only one more time - it's the Nostradamus thing. Modifying predictions and events to fulfil a prophesy. Nothing was modified. If somebody tells you on a tuesday to come back in a week does that mean come back Friday, Sunday or next Tuesday? A week is a week. I guess we'll just agree to disagree but as I've said, I was only making the point that a few people dismissed the idea that it would be a huge week for the club. Wether the prediction was easy or not is irrelevant, the doubters said it would be wrong but it wasnt. Like I said, agree to disagree ;-)

  10. Selling Benteke meant it was always going to be a big week... we had to hit the market hard to strengthen and stop the panic. It's not a hard thing to judge. No but the tekkers deal happened after he said it (although it was in the pipeline). The reason I made the point is because a few people were very quick to shoot him down and even go so far as to say they dont expect anything to happen this week. So, although I agree it was not too hard a thing to judge, the fact is that it has been a huge week so the doubters were wrong. Just saying...
  11. Not bagging out Richard or any of the "ITK" posters but given how this squad was short of quality it's not such a leap to say it was going to be a huge week. Even more so after losing Benteke & the snake. I'll bet that this next week will also be huge, we ain't finished yet. Hope so mate. I also think we have more dealings to be done. If the transfer kitty runs out we still have two loan slots to fill if need be.
  12. We bought Bunn since then I think we'd better sign Pickford from Sunderland too though! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Pickford
  13. Just for the record guys, It was one week ago today that Richard said it would be "A huge week for the club".
  14. Currently yes. However, if we get the required players in then I think we will be stronger. Benteke is irreplaceable like for like, but if we adapt out approach and get a couple of good attacking players then I think it will be to our benefit. Still ifs and buts for me though at the moment. Totally agree, Bentekes role is irreplaceable but the ten teams that finished directly above us didnt have a superstar striker yet did better than us so its not a necessity. The money is better spent on 3 decent players than one brilliant one. Also, that way it takes 3 injuries instead of 1 to render that money useless
  15. I wasnt suggesting that we do, I was just asking if a 28 year old worth 500k whos international career consists of 4 under 21 caps is worthy of a spot in a 25 man squad that needs to be vastly improved.
  16. I've no issue getting him at that price then. Good cover for RB & LB. In an already over-sized squad?
  17. I saw the post before you removed it but will keep quiet if you promise me thats happening lol ;-)
  18. I agree but lets face it, If we were/are any worse than last season we would be a championship team. What we are building will definately not be a championship team providing we do get 4 or 5 more additions of the same quality we have already signed. I do believe 4 or 5 is a realistic figure given that 1 or 2 of them could be loans, Cambiasso (if we can get him) would be free and (going by the general concensus on here) we still have around £20m to spend which would bring in another 2 players at the price bracket we've been shopping in. Edit: Sorry, I strayed away from your original point a bit. What I meant was, I agree they will need time but some will hit it off straight away and not all of the first 11 will be new so its definately worth the gamble seeing as we couldnt get any worse. We already have the likes of Jack, Sinclair, Westwood, Guzan, Hutton, Bacuna and pretty much all of our CB's that dont need time to settle in.
  19. I say this every transfer window but hes still only 27 so I'm gonna keep on saying it... I think Ryan Shawcross would be a good signing. imo....
