I'd take Lescott, Williams and Nkoulou in for Senderos, Baker and (if we needed the funds) Clark. We need to replace Vlaar first. Think Richards was that

Even IF 2 CB's go, we still have 4. If you want to start assuming, which is fair enough, you'd have to assume that actually Bacuna is a RM. that only leaves Hutton. That is absolutely scary. Yes Richards CAN play there, but at this stage there's no indication of that, in fact it's been stated he's a CB. Crespo, essentially same deal. Looks more a CB than a RB to me, don't you reckon? I take your point about signing a starter who can walk into the team at CB, but surely, obviously, one of those is more needed at RB? The only assumptions I made were that the press links to Baker and Cissokho leaving may be correct (being a speculation thread I didnt think assumptions would bother anyone). If Hutton was injured we could use Crespo or Richards at RB as both are accomplished in that position. So its my opinion that a CB is a higher priority due to that fact that we have 4 players that can play RB (3 of which have been making a career of it) but our CB's consist of Okore & Senderos (both injury prone) Clark (no problems) Richards (unproven in this position) and Baker (probably leaving). So with Crespo as a FB and Baker on his way we actually only have 4 CB's (one of which, Richards, is not a natural CB and one, Senderos, is injury prone). The general concensus on here is that we need a new 'quality' CB that will walk in to the first team. Rather than bringing in cover for Clark, Okore and Richards, lets bring in someone better than them and let them all work/fight for a starting place. That will improve the team imo

I'd have guessed at £10m net at start of window, I'd still be surprised if it was as high as £20m but have to admit I've been a little surprised by just how active we've been. Trent can you see a keeper being bought in or will be stick with Guzan? Been wondering about that myself. I have a feeling that Tim is concerned about Guzans ability to organise his defence. Hes a great shot stopper but he wouldnt have to be as busy if the lads in front of him were more organised. We could do with a GK that has a big presence. Preferably french... and called Jordan....

Maybe about even should Gestade complete and then depends how they account for the loan "fee" for Adabayor. We've enough for one more of the same kind of quality after that I'd say. Hmm certainly need to see a few exit that is for sure. Id be looking to find Herd somewhere to go to. Loan or sell Seigrist. Loan out Steer. Sell or loan out Donacien. That gets us (without any more ins/outs) back down to 25. If we could offload Cissokho, Bennett, Nzogbia and Tonev that would leave room for a couple of strikers and a couple of midfielders which is what I think we need. Senderos and Cole are in their last year and if anyone wanted them I'd be happy to let them leave but would need replacing like for like. If Baker is to go then like Senderos would need a like for like replacement. Bacuna and Gardner would have 6 months to earn a new contract. Clark needs a new deal. After that and if we had any budget left I'd be thinking Hutton and Richardson are replaceable. Would this mean we still adhere to the '8 home grown' player rule?
