  1. Apparently hes passed the medical and is discussing terms for a loan move. http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/ BREAKING NEWS Scott Sinclair has passed a medical with Aston Villa and is now in talks about a loan deal until the end of the season, according to Sky sources. It is thought the deal will be with a view to making it permanent at the end of the season. The 25-year-old winger has made just three starts since signing for Manchester City in 2012.
  2. I thought we couldnt loan 2 players from a club with Manchester in the name?
  3. This in the Daily Mail: 'Aston Villa have asked about a loan for Atletico Madrid winger Cristain Rodriguez, also the subject of interest from Crystal Palace and Sunderland.' http://www1.skysports.com/football/transfer-paper-talk They are a good side so perhaps we should loan 2 players from them?
  4. I'd like to see: Guzan Hutton, Okore, Baker, Cissokho Sanchez, Westwood, Delph Gil, Grealish (a.k.a Jack & Gil) Tekkers
  5. I'd like to see Jack and Gil ( ) running at defs and supplying Tekkers!
  6. Transfer news: Aston Villa put back Carles Gil press conference Last Updated: 13/01/15 11:38am 0 Valencia midfielder Carles Gil still set to join Villa Aston Villa remain confident Carles Gil will join the club despite a late hitch in their deal with Valencia. Representatives for the 22-year-old midfielder have reportedly increased their demands as the deal to bring him to the Premier League was close to being finalised. Gil flew into Birmingham on Monday to put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with Villa due to hold a press conference at 1pm at their Bodymoor Heath training ground. That has now been put back, but Gil is still expected to become Paul Lambert's first January addition as the Scot desperately looks to add some creativity to his squad. Villa have failed to score in their last four outings but, despite scoring only nine goals in the Premier League all season, sit three points above the relegation zone in 13th. Gil came through the ranks at Valencia and spent two years on loan at Elche before returning to the Mestalla at the start of the season. Villa have also been linked with Manchester City misfit Scott Sinclair having drawn a blank in 12 of their top flight games this term. http://www1.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/9643397/transfer-news-aston-villa-put-back-carles-gil-press-conference
  7. SSN: coventry have signed the fonz on loan until the end of the season
  8. Apologies mate, i simply posted "In lambert we trust" and was referring to his dealings in the transfer market to try and boost some confidence but it kind of escalated.
  9. depends on what you see as the being "the plan", I see it that he had a 5 year plan to replace all the over-paid players that feel they are owed a place in the team whilst putting minimum effort in, with young, hungry players that want to play for the club and reducing the wage bill at the same time. These players will need to time to adapt and learn the ways of the premiership and some players will not be good enough so will move on but did not cost the earth anyway so were not a high financial risk. He is not even half way through that plan yet and has already made a significant impact whilst keeping the clubs premiership status (which was always going to be at risk given that he took on a team of relegation candidates and then began a mass player replacement). Alex ferguson won nothing with United during his first 5 years at the club despite inheriting a better team than PL did here. We may not know the full depth of PL's plan, his targets or indeed his daily attempts to improve us but we do know that our wage bill has reduced, our players are making an effort and Lambert has not finished his plan and has not run out of ideas. If we replaced our manager every two years we will never get anywhere because the re-building will just keep starting again and again. He needs time and our backing. When he is done we can criticise, complain or enjoy his success. Time will tell but you cant write off his work when you havent seen the finished product. In Lambert I trust!
  10. Did you trust Mcleish? Nope, didnt see any kind of plan from him. PL has a long term plan which has already seen him reduce the wage bill dramatically. We are no longer paying ridiculous wages for lazy players. We have young hungry players that want to play for the team. Ok, some of them are not good enough but that is trial and error, you dont know if a player is good enough until you try him but at least they are not expensive lessons. He will get there in the end, once he completes his jigsaw but he needs our support to do it. How is he supposed to attract players to the club if they sense unrest due to the fans booing and moaning? The team we have now would beat the team we had two years ago simply by the effort the put in and the fact that they dont give up even when 2 goals behind. the difference is, this team is a lot cheaper and not yet complete. Once we get to a transfer window whilst still not performing and PL says he doesnt need to strengthen anywhere we can moan away!
  11. I have good news my friends! Its common knowledge that we are clearly lacking someone with a decent beard right? Well apparently Dale Stephens has just been seen tripping over his as he climbed out of Julie B's basement and is about to complete the final leg of his trip to villa park. ;-)
  12. According to SSN website, Ireland rumoured to be in talks with stoke over season long loan
  13. Yes, Ulrika Jonsson found this out the hard way. So did Davina.
  14. I'm loving the confidence and desire from the players at the mo, especially going behind against big teams in both games so far then showing the character to keep fighting. I will worry when we are playing a lesser team as we may get too comfortable through over-confidence. Lets hope the lads show the same fighting spirit against all opponents. 2-1 villa today for me. COME ON LADS!!!
  15. Good luck guys. Gutted I cant be there. skybet giving 7 to 1 on a villa win! VTID! COME ON LADS!
  16. Vegetarians are weird. If you aren't meant to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?
  17. Apparently he flew into Brum last week and is basement sharing with Dale Stephens at Julie Fritzl's safe house.
  18. Found this on SSN: Sky Sports understand that Blackburn Rovers have pulled out of a deal for Barry Bannan. Rovers had agreed a deal with Aston Villa for the Scotland international midfielder. However, the 23-year-old has seen the move fail to materialise as Rovers failed to agree terms with the player's representatives. Gary Bowyer had hoped to have Bannan signed and sealed ahead of Saturday's opening game of the season, despite issues with the deal. However, the move has now collapsed as Blackburn and Bowyer look elsewhere. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8849612/transfer-news-blackburn-pull-plug-on-barry-bannan-deal
