  1. As you are aware I was right behind you on that but am not going to get excited about your post this time around as I believe you are saying it for a different reason. This reason being that we NEED to sign a couple of decent, proven prem players but may not get it done! Right? Wrong? Talk to me...
  2. We still have the No10 shirt open which we could fill with a loan so I dont think transfer funds will be the issue. Providing we have the wages available it will all come down to how the facial goes. That said, I dont think our striker problem is as bad as it appears. Gabby has been a waste of space so if he was left out we would either be looking at 3 creative AM's (from Gil, Jack, Traore, Sinclair) behind either Rudy, Ayew or Kozak. Or, 2 AM's & 2 up front out of Rudy, Ayew, Kozak and Sinclair. Gabby has either been non-existent or has wasted the ball when hes had it so its almost like playing with ten men and having to sacrifice an attacking option to do so. This has reflected badly on our strikers as a whole due to the lack of goals. Gil returning will be a big plus in the supply chain and our strikers will come good when none of them are having to 'carry' Gabby. Still expect one in on loan to fill that shirt though along with a CB (probably Lescott). My main concern once CB is filled is Guzan, he has too many weaknesses for a PL goalkeeper.
  3. Yes, I realise. Probably going to cost about 1/16th the price of relegation. Excellent point but i think the general concensus is not wether hes worth it but more wether the club will pay it.
  4. i agree but dont think we have another £15m to spend on one player when we also appear to be looking for a CB
  5. spot on! Guzans distribution is awful. he put a place kick out for a throw in and gave the ball to amavi in a dodgy position which led to a goal. hes also too quiet which cost a corner that bacuna had to head out because he didnt know brad was there.
  6. He played 34 games in the league last season and has been fit for the start of this season....... thats more than any of our CB's played last season
  7. I can see you've taken to this repetivie awfull journaliam lark. By the looks of it you are getting the hang of the nasty journalist's habit of repeating things. That's obviously you picking up on the repetitve style of the aforementioned journalist. I think Richard is taking the beetle juice approach, say it 3 times and it will happen. Zlatan signs for villa Zlatan signs for villa Zlatan signs for villa
  8. We dont actually know if the club have £15m to spend on a striker but if we do then there must be more than 4 options available! 15 million pounds is 21 million euros!
  9. I agree with this. In the under 21's Derby game we played Grealish, Gil and Traore together. If we do that a lot this season then we wont have a problem creating chances and getting the ball into the box. What we need is a poacher/finisher that can latch onto everything and put a few in the net. Ayew could turn out to be that man. Gabby is not styled to that, he is better suited to taking the ball into the box himself. Sinclair could probably do it. Rudy and Kozak are target men so we have options. The fact remains though that the No:10 shirt is vacant so will probably be filled by someone. Austin would fit the bill for me but I think that would have already happened if it was going to. Its a nice job for someone that can finish tbh because there wont be a shortage of opportunities with Traore, Jack & Gil as direct supply plus Amavi's crosses and Westwoods long balls. Gay has an eye for a through ball too.
  10. Bacuna new deal http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~4946453,00.html
  11. Strange no links or rumours following his trip to Malaga the other day
  12. I was trying to work out what website or newspaper hmm stood for
  13. Why is Boilsen so wanted though? when he is clearly not wanted by his team from a lesser league?! not saying I am against as I know nothing about it, however I read that the Ajaz manager said he had no place in the team. I don't know if he is so wanted tbh JV. Ive pointed out in other comments that without ever seeing him play I'm happy to believe he'll be better than Richardson or Bennett. I just think a 23 year old International colleague of Okore out of the Ajax academy really sounds like a good idea. I think he's basically got a year on his contract and told them after 4 years he wants to try somewhere else. He was Ajax captain which says alot on its own. He was voted Danish U21 player of the year the year before Okore was. He made the Champions league team of the week after a match against Barca. Not much left to do if you are Ajax and he doesnt want to sign a new contract but let it run down or try and get some money in for him. know nothing about him and really want him so its a yes from me #onthebandwagon
  14. I like the optimism of you putting this story in the on-topic speculation thread rather than the other football - other teams thread. yeah, more wishful thinking than anything
  15. ZLATAN OUT? Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way out of PSG after the French champions told the striker he can leave this summer, according to the Daily Mail. The Swedish star, 34, could be available for a cut price fee as he has less than a year left on his contract at the PSG. Ibrahimovic's former side AC Milan are among the clubs thought to be eyeing a move for the player.
  16. Agree Villa Marv, although that list is 28 long so we'd have to remove 3 straight away and then more to cater for any more signings You would think Donacien, Gardner, Cole, Kozak would be the logical four to go either sold, released or on loan thus enabling us to bring one more in? Veretout, Traore and Grealish dont take up a place though as they were 21 or under at the start of the year Edit: Missed Amavi too
