  1. no way, obviously I can see why a lot of people think a defeat is on the cards but we have to take inspiration from the city game, city are a better and stronger team than spurs plus we have our main man back, I think we will win but who knows, id never take any defeat wether it be 1 2 or 3 nil especially at home,
  2. villa 2 palace 1 in 88, platt scored twice for us after goin 1 nil down I think,
  3. think their was a scuffle where the police lines were that separated the two fans, and at halftime it got a bit heated in the concourse area with stewards and police, I saw a bloke in his 40s with his lad who was no older than 10 booting the metal shutters that divides the stand with a few other villa fans to try and get to the albion fans, but other than that their wernt any major trouble I don't think, not enough to warrant a reduction in allocation anyway
  4. I can see this being a lot more different than the cup tie, they don't concede many but I think their struggling in terms of attack, but make no mistake their a very good team, with benteke back I can see another home win, 2.1 villa, probably looking at minimum 34k and max 36k
  5. seriously ? here's a clue, the complete dumbing down of expectations by the club. if the casual supporter doesn't think the club are interested in achieving anything on the pitch anymore (except aiming for mid table as some kind of trophy) then he/she wont bother coming, its quite simple really it's been drilled into everyone for seasons now that we can no longer compete, we've even gone as far as claiming we're doing well by just staying up now (despite spending nearly 40m over two seasons) and i even read a quote on here this week that Lambert's methods work 'as proven last season' yes, last season when we managed to confirm our Premier League status by the skin of our teeth, a proper triumph for the Lambert way! but lets not pretend we've ever had a solid 38-42k hardcore supporter base because we never have, it's more like 25k and then casual supporters on top of that. it was no different when we were actually winning the league never mind sweating just to stay in it we all have our own opinion but yes I really don't get why we don't average bigger crowds, the amount of stay away fans even when were doing well is unreal, and yes I know that we only averaged 32k or something like that when we won the league, I get that we no longer are a club who are going to challenge but some of the crowds we get are piss poor but that's just my opinion, don't you think we should have a solid hardcore fanbase of around 38k because I do, maybe we just are not as well supported as I think we are
  6. I agree with what your saying to a degree but no other club has such a dip in attendances than we do, our prices are really cheap so sell outs or their abouts should be a lot more often, its always been the same though I think at the villa, definately going to consider getting a season ticket in north stand lower next season as its cheap as chips
  7. We really do struggle to sell out games now even when their big games, I don't know what it is, you cannot fault our prices that's for sure, is our fanbase just not as loyal as others? I know most clubs class us as really fickle fans and its true to a degree I think, it will be interesting to see how many buy these half season tickets
  8. must say that im a lager drinker and I myself drink bottles a lot of the time because most of the pubs I go serve shit pints, but when I drink in Lichfield I drink pints because I find you get a really nice pint their, not into real ales at all, used to be mad on the spirits but had to cut that out
  9. terrible news mate, I lost my gran to cancer, she brought me up from when I was born and its fair to say I was a grannys boy, she had bowel cancer in her 50s which she survived but was left with a colostomy bag and she had countless problems from that, then 10 years later she got leukemia which she fought hard for many years but in the end the countless bouts off chemo and everything else took its toll, she also had a major heart attack bought on my the treatment she was having to have, I loved my gran so much but after watching her suffer for so many years I did find peace when she passes away and I know she did aswell, death effects people in many different ways but I hope you and your family also find peace when your dad passes, it will be very upsetting obviously but its no life living the way many cancer sufferers live, I am very proud of my gran how she carried on the way she did, she was hard as nails and although she was in a lot of pain she just got on with life, an absolute inspiration she was, hopefully one day we will beat cancer, anyway all the best mate and stay strong for the old man

  12. my mrs is trying to persuade me to get a joint bank account but I kind of like it to be just my bank account although whats mine is hers and vice versa, at the moment she stays at home looking after our 16 month old son and I work, all the direct debits go out of her bank, she hates having to piss about taking money out of mine and putting it into hers for the direct debits,

  20. cant fault our away support so far this year, all our away games have sold out weeks before the game apart from Chelsea but we only had a short time to sell our tickets for that game plus it was midweek at 56 quid a ticket, think their was a few left for Chelsea but not many, surprised west ham sold out this quick,
