  1. oh yea definitely, and they only have sunderland to compete with really up in that area, we have blues and baggies 3 mile away and wolves 15 mile away, and also Coventry just down the road plus Birmingham and its surrounding area has a huge ethnic population who either don't follow football or follow united, arsenal etc, take aston for instance it has a population of what? 20k and I bet hardly anyone living in aston goes the villa, if you look at leeds not only is it a one city club but they have big support all over the country, they are probably the best supported team in rugeley behind obviously villa, wolves, united, liverpool and probably celtic and rangers, leeds is 100 mile away from rugeley, hardly any spurs, everton , arsenal, city but loads of leeds
  2. Newcastle really look down on us as a big club, they think they are a much bigger club, they get bigger crowds and have done for a while but I would say we have a similar fanbase, their just more fanatical up their, also I would say they are probably a more glamourous club which was built up in the 90s and early 2000 when they were exciting and had a lot of flair players, other than that I would definitely say we trump them in every other department, if they got it together up their though they would be a monster of a club,
  3. villa, Newcastle, leeds, Wednesday, just to name a few, the potential for us leeds and Newcastle is absolutely huge
  4. Southampton were a better team than us last season and they are this season, I enjoyed watching them last season and they have improved a lot this year, they are a club who will be looking to break into the top 6 or 7 in the next few seasons, wish I could say the same about us
  5. same here, I had to get up at half 5,
  6. we were so much better today than we were against spurs, at least we looked like scoring 3 or 4 goals, but lets face facts played 5 at home and lost 4
  7. don't be daft, I know it seems bad at the moment but were better than last season just about,
  8. by the time they had their first chance we should of been out of sight, first half we were good second half we were shit, I loved it when everton were 1 nil up and we were playing like we were 1 nil up by sitting back, absolutely have no plan b, had a good laugh in the pub before and after game though so all aint that bad,
  9. I loved piper at the gates of dawn, obviously they went in a different direction when syd left but really enjoyable album
  10. Dust,Dust, American band from the early 70s, very popular in their homeland at the time
  11. the emotion Gilmour plays in his solo's are second to none
  12. you do exactly what I do when I listen to Floyd, I must admit I aint always in the mood for them but when I am the lights go off and I just escape into the music, great album by one of the greatest bands ever
  13. I do like some stuff by the stone roses, love spreads off the second coming is probably my favourite song by them
  14. by the sounds of it then it should sell out, I didn't realise that we had a big following down south
  15. im a massive fan of benteke he is a beast, but im also a huge fan of lukaku who is equally as good and is also a beast, going to be a tight game but I think its got a draw written all over it,
  16. well something has got to change because going to a football match is becoming a joke with the prices and you cant do this and that attitude, let alone the atmosphere which is dead, football for to long has been singled out
  17. Our downer was 10-13, 3 years when we were very close to being relegated on more than one occasion, some terrible players signed on terrible contracts and two poor managerial appointments (Houllier was the right thought process but the wrong bloke to execute the new continental approach). Things are picking up slowly even if we are generally uninspiring to watch at Villa Park. I reckon we'll finish 9th or 10th this season which will indicate slow progess. I wouldn't call it a great achievement though as WBA finished 9th last season and they were garbage from January onwards. And then we'd see what sort of investment is needed/required to try to push us back to competiting with the top 6 again. That's even if Lerner is still around but I think he will be. Thought he might have sold up at some stage in the last 18 months but it isn't easy to sell a premier league club. maybe I was being a bit to negative but I just feel like were falling behind that much, ok if we finish 9th that's a good achievement from last year but were so much closer to being in trouble again than we are to finishing 6th, the football were playing at home at times is useless, obviously lerner wants to sell up but hes waiting for the right time, are we an attractive enough club for a huge money man to come in and take us to champions league football? because that's what its all about really aint it I mean no one is just gonna plough huge amounts of money into a club just for Europa league football, for clubs like Southampton that's great and I do believe they will break the top 6 in the next couple of years but are we gonna get an abromovich type in the future, like I said I think the potential at villa is huge even though we aint what you call a glamourous club like for instance spurs are
  18. my mum has 2 feral cats, you can definitely tell the difference from the other 2 domesticated cats she has
  19. are we well supported down that part of the country then?
  20. to be fair things have gone very stale, the whole place is on a downer again, we aint going anywhere and we wont be going anywhere until someone buys lerner out and spends really big, its horrible to see but lerner is quite happy with us strolling around mid table, he tried a few years back but failed to make us a success, we are without doubt one of the most boring clubs in the league to follow, but we have huge potential and hopefully one day we get to where we all want to be
  21. you think, we took some terrible away followings last season even on Saturdays with a 3 o'clock kick off, just say we have a bad run up until this game I cant see us taking 2k but I might be wrong
  22. Depends on our next few results on how well the tickets sell
  23. I agree, unfortunate it hit the linesman but it wernt intentional, they do look good I must admit
  24. Those smoke bombs look awesome but theirs gonna be a big crack down now on them which is a pity, noticed a few teams away support use them especially everton, rocket polishers will spoil things though
