  1. Bojo no go! Part of me is disappointed as it would have been utter suicide for the Tories, but at the same token I’m glad that he won’t be back.
  2. Him and Sunak are the 2 sides of the Tories and we’ve now got to the stage that they will no longer work together. It ultimately depends if they will go full blown separation and ultimately split the party. One can hope anyway.
  3. I think sadly, a vote of no confidence, push to GE would either need the leader to g for it or for a large chunk of Tories to go for it as well. If they can unite behind someone you can guarantee that they will happy sitting pretty for 2 years to try and repair the damage and take their easy money for nodding along. If they can’t agree though, there will (hopefully) be complete collapse followed by a GE. When Truss resigned, it did cross my mind whether she would be THAT stupid to call a GE, which would have been utterly comical. Probably end up with most of the Tories voting against it!
  4. Probably written into the new leadership rules by the 1922 committee. "1. Anyone call Michael Gove cannot be leader."
  5. Seems like the initial reaction. However, with Braverman she literally resigned yesterday as she breached the ministerial code. I know it is likely it was a "convenient excuse", but if she wasn't fit to remain as Home Secretary, why on earth should she be fit to be PM?!
  6. It almost makes you think that the whole Lib Dem agent thing may have an element of truth... And then you realise its Liz Truss and that actually explains everything.
  7. Boo! Ah well, it would have been political suicide anyway. They will do something today; maybe tomorrow to screw themselves over.
  8. So they are potentially going to suspend/chuck out Truss/Johnson and May (along with a number of other high profile MPs)?! If they do get rid of those 40 (unlikely) that’ll cut their technical majority to single figures, all for a vote that was completely irrelevant, wasn’t going to change anything and also completely of their own making. This government is bringing new meaning to the word incompetence.
  9. I think the anecdote is that should she put in place the restrictions she would wish for, her parents wouldn’t have been allowed in the country. Awful person quite frankly and her comments would be shocking on GB News/Fox News, let alone as the head voice of democratic government. Every day longer this government is in power it is going to be exponentially longer for the Tories to get in any position of real power. Hopefully the other parties can sort it out so the system becomes fairer for everyone, not just the richest.
  10. Its nice to make a difference I've got it on in the background, this is just an utter farce of proceedings and one of their own making!
  11. So glad Braverman has gone, but clearly she has jumped before she is pushed (either within government or party) as that is a particularly scathing resignation letter. Couldn't have happened to a worse person - hopefully she will lose her seat at the next GE and she goes into obscurity aka GB News. Also, why have they turned the fracking vote into a confidence vote? Seriously moronic. I can see a number are going to oppose anyway but its funny that some are only voting in support to ensure their letters remain valid. Farcical state of affairs!
  12. Pretty much you will be allowed to protest once every 5 years or probably go to jail. I thought Patel was bad but Braverman is even worse. She is a genuinely awful human being and the further away she is from any form of actual power the better.
  13. I don’t see how they can justify another change in PM without a GE. Whilst they technically can, it would just look terrible and likely cause the complete and utter collapse of the party. It would also likely lead to a number of MPs who are so desperate to keep their jobs that they either join another party or create their own. Pushing the Tories further down the path of their own destruction. Shame
  14. Having slept on it, I just cannot see how Gerrard should continue. We sacked Smith because of the lack of progress and lack of form. I think it is fair to say, whilst Smith has a massive place in mine and a lot of Villa fans because of what he did. However, it was pretty clear that when he was sacked, it felt that he had taken us as far as he could and it didn't come as too much of a shock when he did go. The problem is that Gerrard was brought in as an improvement, to take us to the next level. Whatever way you look at it, that just simply hasn't happened. We are not scoring goals, we are letting in easy goals, it feels that we have no connection between the players. They barely look like a team. I appreciate that the 2 of the main summer signings have had serious injuries but then he has more or less the same squad that Smith had (with the addition of Coutinho and Digne - 2 upgrades, certainly on paper). We have 1 less point than Smith did at the same he was sacked, and whilst Gerrard has 1 game less, even if he wins the Fulham game is 2 points extra really progress? Last season we had 4 "top 6" games; this season we've had 3. The results have not got any better, and arguably Gerrard had a slightly easier start. Then you look at the players. These do not look like the players that they once were. I genuinely think every single player looks worse under Gerrard or has gotten worse under his management. Probably the easiest and best example is Coutinho. First few games he looked great and it felt like a real coup to get him. However, even by the end of last season, it looked liked it would be a gamble on someone who was only a few years ago one of the best players in the world. This season? No goals, no assists. Can barely tell he is even on the pitch. Woeful. Even the long standing, solid players have looked worse. Mings, Konsa, Watkins and McGinn (especially McGinn) have regressed massively under Gerrard. These were players that were on the fringes of international squads. Even Martinez is making more mistakes. Tactically we are utterly inept as well. We have been outdone without any question a number of times this season with key tactical changes by the other teams that have turned the game. Gerrard doesn't have that innate ability or experience to react to that. I am not really sure what he is actually doing? The worse thing though is the sheer despondency with the fans. I wasn't necessarily dreading going yesterday, I just could not be bothered. The atmosphere wasn't toxic per se, rather it was apathetic. There was limited singing, and although there were moments of something decent, that was it. There are some very hardcore fans around me and they couldn't be bothered to sing, left early and there is just a general malaise around everyone. What Gerrard has actually managed to do is suck the life out of the club and the fans and without that, what is the genuine point of it all? Whatever way I look at it, Gerrard isn't an improvement on Smith without any doubt. I would probably argue he is a downgrade but that is irrelevant. He is not the answer to taking Villa to the next level which ever way you cut it. My main concern though is getting the right person in the role. We cannot get this wrong again as that will only end in 1 way.
  15. Caught them at Reading 2012(?) so yeah been a while for me.
  16. Nadine Dorries speaking a modicum of sense? Have we entered the twilight zone?!
  17. From the BBC live feed Nadhim Zahawi was only a temporary one, granted, but that is another indicator of how unstable the Tories are at the moment. Think Truss has gone "him or me".
  18. It would be the most hysterical scenario, if we weren’t all going to be impacted by the sheer ineptitude but hopefully she is being forced to roll back on the most ludicrous parts…

Oh that makes sense. To be honest though, it just reinforces how slow the whole process has been. It’s been nearly 2 years and they are now only just subpoenaed Trump. Most of the evidence is already available and they really could have had this done dusted with. Instead we’re now at a stage where it is at massive risk that it will get ended without proper resolution.

Possibly. To be honest it’s just utterly frustrating that it’s only now that the law is catching up. Frustratingly slow.
