The Tory party will literally say anything to stay in power. They have no principles, no beliefs and no actual politics. They are corrupt to their very core and they should never be anywhere near any form of power.

I think I view it in the way that which candidates is most likely to get the rest of the Tories stabbing their backs or even better causing the party to split. Suspect one of the extremist? Truss for more of the same nonsense might be fun and she is not clever enough to hide all of the necessary lies I suspect. I wouldn't say I follow politics indiscriminately, but the fact that I barely know any of these names shows what a complete farce this all is. But yeah, one of these 8 is going to be the PM. Eurgh.

I find it amusing that most of these have a lot of material ready to go. They have been planning and plotting this for a long time. They are all a bunch of lying, conniving back stabbers who shouldn't be trusted anywhere near a position of power. The fact that there are a lot of candidates that are already taking pops at each other is good. Hopefully this will be a complete and utter bloodbath that the Tories will never recover from.

Good. More chaos for the Tories the less likely they will stay in power. Headlines like the ones in the Daily Mail also show that they are still backing Boris and think it’s actually worth fighting for. It means that they think this isn’t over. It also shows that they are willing to sacrifice the rest of the Tories for him. A split down the party is exactly what is needed to break their dominance. Bring it on

To even call him a musician is a bit much to be honest. If they are getting the likes of him, I would be intrigued to see them get someone like Barney from Napalm Death on the show.

Sadly I don't think they will. The Tories won't change the rules as the rules suite them. If the nation doesn't like it, then don't vote Tory. It's not complicated.

Only when get whittled down to 2 IIRC. Until that stage the MPs vote as to who is picked. Nice to have a say in who will be the next PM

Actually think this might be a good thing in the long term. Paint the current Conservative party as the traitors and never vote for them again or at the very least for the foreseeable. Then see Boris either form his own party or join the reform party (unlikely though having just checked Farage’s twitter) and then split the vote completely allowing for someone sensible to actually take control of the country. We can but dream at least.

Well… The beans are wrong with fish for a starter (don’t like beans anyway so that’s a given). As @bicksterpointed out, that lemon “wedge” has the core, what on Earth that sauce is on the side just looks wrong. The fish has an extra appendages and those chips look dry and tasteless. I also suspect that plate is Wetherspoons so you will end up putting your money in that twits back pocket. So nah, not much wrong with it! Think I would rather have the chippy gravy that @blandy gets, at least that looks relatively edible (barring the sacrilege of the gravy, but even that will probably be decent quality).

Given he is refusing to leave, does he think that he has enough support to defy the Tory party/1922 committee and if so will he simply resign and basically lead his own party? Could do with a complete split/break up - will end up causing irreversible damage to the Tories. And as writing this Gove has been fired
