  1. I’m not convinced we were trying to convince him at that point, particularly if this had been stitched up for months. Were I to give him the massive benefit of the doubt, then I’d say he perhaps wanted to make sure we were able to bring in decent players to replace him - so rather than convincing him to stay, Lange’s transfer updates gave him the green light in his head. He probably also wanted to say goodbye to some of his team mates.
  2. Apologies totally missed this - my fault for spending all my time in the Grealish thread over the last few days

  4. Came from nowhere…. Very happy with this. Total pro. Will be a leader in the dressing room. Onwards and upwards. VTID
  5. I’m looking forward to Dean offering his thoughts on the transfer. He’ll speak highly of Grealish of course, but will, I’m sure, place the transfer in it’s proper context - an opportunity to further strengthen the squad as we continue to pursue our ambition of a top six finish. He’ll acknowledge our disappointment, but recognise that no player is bigger than our great club - and it’ll resonate because he (Dean) is one of our own. As I said previously, onward and upwards. VTID.
  6. Could have been a Villa legend, but just a footnote in our proud history now. Onwards and upwards! VTID
  7. I actually thought the system was pretty fair. Tickets went on sale at 5pm. Someone logging on at 4:00pm shouldn't get any advantage over someone logging on at 4:59pm. Assigning a random place in the queue is the fairest way of doing it. I would say that though having got on.
  8. I just got in. Was 2000 or so in the queue. There were around 700 tickets in Area 543. View looks decent enough. 50 quid or so.
  9. If it stays 2-0 then Jedi will come on for in 10mins...
  10. If we get a third then Grealish / Lansbury need a run out.
  11. This is kind of crazy... but if it works...fair enough. Open the full tweet to read the Dr’s lecture notes...

  13. You may be right about Bernstein and King. But I don't think we can be sure. I'd still be keen to hear their opinions.
  14. I'm remaining open minded for now and will wait and see how things pan out over the coming weeks. But, I'd certainly be really interested in hearing Bernstein or Lord King's thoughts on Dr. Tony.
  15. Indeed. I'm over the moon that the club has been sold and excited about what the next few weeks/months have in store. But, I'll just temper my enthusiasm a little until genuine progress speaks for itself.
  16. Not to dampen the mood... But I'm keen to learn more about Dr. Tony before I get too excited. That said... things couldn't get much worse.
  17. Happy with this if it comes off and think Tim' s played it well. Clark and Baker given new contracts and (Clark in particular) likely reassured they are the future and will have a chance to establish themselves in the long term. Lescott's been brought in to steady the ship and offer some much needed experience at the back - defending free kicks against Utd our lack of organisation was painfully apparant. Lescott is a fan and will be a positive influence. Just need a striker now...
