  1. Spot on. Great post and representative of my thoughts on the subject too.
  2. Bannan didn't play and hasn't been on the bench for the last three games. He could be talking about Bannan. Key bit from Lambert - 'lads on the fringe of it'. All he is saying here is that we all need to club together to get out of this mess - stay strong and have a good team spirit. He might be talking about Bannan especially if rumours are true that he has shown some discontent about being dropped.
  3. Everything is against us it seems. Knew we were down after the Wigan home game which is the worst Villa game I have ever attended.
  4. Best signing in a long long time. For those saying he looks jaded, I completely disagree. This guy oozes class and is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Give us another year tekkers!
  5. This is brilliant! Going to start paying more attention to German football. Cannot stand all of the cheating in Spain.
  6. It's a big call to say he is a "very average footballer". The stats are average at all. They're exceptional. I'm astounded that we have the best corner taker, best set piece and crosser in the squad. His agent won't have any trouble hawking him off somewhere if we get relegated. Can I ask you a couple of honest questions? i) Who do you think will show an interest in / try to sign Barry Bannan? Assuming your interpretation of the stats is shared by managers around Europe, which clubs do you think will be vying for the signature of the Premier League's best crosser, set-piece taker and corner taker? This is a genuine question. Throw out, say, five clubs who you think will look to entice Barry. ii) Should Barry Bannan be in the running for PFA Player of the Year? I think you could make an argument that Bannan's game bears several resemblances to that of Michael Carrick who is in the running. Danny Welbeck is also in the running and has only scored one goal more than Bannan, although United fans claim he deserves to be in there for his role as a wide man his crossing stats are nowhere near Barry's. Again, a genuine question. Cheers. Current price tag £4.5m. I wouldn't sell him though. ii) Should Barry Bannan be in the running for PFA Player of the Year? Not played enough games to be considered.
  7. Con, you are certainly dogmatic, but perhaps also a little myopic... If Bannan had played instead of Delph with Westwood then I think it would have been even easier for utd to overrun us. Incidentally, I didn't witness many misplaced passes by Delph. Not saying he had a great game by a long stretch, but I strongly believe Westwood and Delph should play together. Just wish we had an attacking creative midfielder who could compliment these two with more quality than KEA or Sylla.
  8. Should have played three in the middle at the expense of N'Zogbia. KEA on this showing might get a run out against Sunderland.
  9. Making statistics up? I didn't quote any statistics mate. Just said that Bannan also plays the ball backwards. Have you ever seen Bannan attack with guile or make any driving runs? How many tackles would Bannan have made? To be honest, I would be more embarrassed by playing a through ball to an opposition player than actually running at a player, albeit, unsuccessfully.
  10. Tripple step over - who gives a shit. Delph is the only player in our team apart from Baker who gets stuck in and shows any fight. To suggest Bannan should come in, in replace of him as laughable. I agree that Westwood is looking a little jaded however. Would rather a jaded Westwood than Barry bloody Bannan - who incidently IS a player who looks backward repeatedly.
  11. Delph should in no way be dropped.
