  1. Our whole defence has been woeful this season and think defensively Baker, Vlaar and Clark if all fit need to be accommodated as it would hopefully tighten things up.
  2. I know he isn't a full back, but when Vlaar and Baker are fit I would have Clark at LB. The back line would be alot more solid with a back-line of: Lowton - Baker - Vlaar - Clark. I am in no way suggesting this should be a long term plan, but to give us more solidity at the back I think with the players we have this is the best we could manage.

    Joe Bennett

This! I worry every time Bennett gets the ball. He seems to trick himself and whenever he rides a few challenges it doesn't look like he intended to do it! On his showings thus far, I think he is mediocre at best. He has no pace, is clumsy, loses the ball and lacks positional understanding. Not a fan.

    Tickets

First experience of the lower north against Wigan. Don't think I will be sitting there for a while!
  5. Look at our shape. Completely inept. No width at all. 4 centre midfielders playing narrow. **** it.
  6. I cannot understand how we performed pretty well in the 5-6 games leading up this (or at least looked tight at the back) to this utter utter rubbish. Getting tired of supporting the Villa and modern day football to be honest.
  7. No shape, bottle or talent. Shambolic. Think we might go down to be honest. Wish I wasn't going on Saturday.
  8. These last few days have just illustrated just how poor we are. Men against boys at the moment.
  9. Thing is, who do we have on the bench to really make a difference? Players that are even more inexperienced than our starting 11, Ireland who has done absolutely nothing since last year at Chelsea, Albrighton who has lost his way, and Bannon who will try hollywood passes giving possession straight back to Spurs. We need to start well, and at no point be chasing the game. If we go 1 or 2 up then I have more confidence that a vociferous Villa park will help the lads get a result, otherwise I think we will get stuffed.
  10. Get the ball into Benteke's feet and get Holman around him. Need 100% and give Spurs no time what so ever on the ball. Who is on the bench?
  11. Surely he needed to change the formation! Bale and Lennon are going to have the space to damage us big time. Dreading this now. Think it might be another sound defeat looking at that formation! 3-1 Spurs.
  12. Very apprehensive about today. Spurs could easily do us on the counter with their wingers if we play 3-5-2. We had been pretty steady going into last week, but the performance last week was the worst I have ever seen. I am all for playing youth, and am fully behind Lambert but the inexperience last week was transparent. We need to be in their faces from the off and play it into Benteke's feet with players getting in and around him. I would be tempted to bring Delph or KEA in at the expense of Bannon. No idea what to suggest about left back. Lichaj is very very average and Bennett for me is bloody useless (albeit judging a small number of games). Would be much more confident to have Vlaar back and put Clark at left back. Im going to say a very nervy 1-1 draw.
  13. Such a limited player, but useful to have in the squad. Not too bad defensively but going forward he is pretty poor. I don't think you can upset the balance of the team at the moment through dropping him and I am sure Lambert will stick with him today.
  14. I would be delighted with a point extending our unbeaten run! Our games at Chelsea are always eventful! Here's hoping Dowd doesn't ruin things for us. I am going to predict 2-2, with them equalising late on.

    Relegation

It is becoming clear that we are slowly developing as a group. The progression over the course of the last few games gives reason to be optimistic. These players have begun to adapt to the PL. The more they play together then the more confidence they will develop and in turn the more points I can see us picking up. As previously stated, there will be a few blips along the way, but there will be more highs (hopefully including a trip to Wembley!). Lambert has proven that he can pick a player. Providing we keep hold of all of our players and then add to the squad in January and the summer I can see us having a cracking season next year. For now, I am going to enjoy the ride.
