I hear you. I think Delph has been unfair in a few of his bookings to be honest. Then again, he can be very rash. I just feel he was a plus for us before his suspension. I think CM is where we are really struggling this season. Yes, of course we have defensive frailties, but we get overran every game even with 3 cm playing. We are not blessed with options in all honesty. Delph could get carded, Bannan shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 and N'Zogbia has had one half decent game in 2 seasons.

Please please say he is on the bench today. If he doesn't bring Delph in for this powderpuff for Stoke away then you have to question Lambert's tactics. (not that i think Sylla is particularly fantastic)

Bannan is the best crosser in the Premier League. That is a fact. You cannot get a more classic case of bias dictating perception than your statement Bannan is "a woeful crosser of the ball". Sell Bannan to another club, they will get the best crosser in the Premier League. That is why we won't sell him.

The FA are an absolute disgrace. Cannot comprehend how they can ignore that tackle. It is as if they are condoning such aggression and recklessness. I think football has gone too far one way - get a free kick for no contact what so ever, but how can this tackle not be punished? Defies belief. This is ridiculous. I would argue that neither player's stock have altered at all over the last two games. I think people's opinion of Bannan have been informed over the whole season as opposed to the last two games.

The team wont be changed. Lambert isnt going to drop a team that has won 2 on the bounce. Wouldnt do much for morale that. He should play the team that he thinks would be most likely to win. And for me - Delph needs to play. Why because when we played Liverpool in December Bannan came on as sub after 69' when the team were 3 goals up. No wait. That was Delph who came on as sub. Bannan played the game when we were beating Liverpool 0-3 until 2 minutes after Bannan was substituted to great applause from the travelling fans. While Bannan played his part in the victory it is about current form. Before Delph's suspension he was in the best form of his Villa career and in my opinion was the standout performer of all of our midfielders. I would like to see him back in the middle. Whether that is for Bannan or Sylla I am undecided.

For me its about finishing 17th. Think Newcastle are safe while Wigan are right down there. If we can stay ahead of Wigan we should be safe.
