  1. I get it - Bruce out had never been more possible after the last game and if you've your heart set on it then yesterday was a setback. Yes Bruce needs to be more positive, no doubt - so hopefully this is the catalyst for it. I don't at all disagree on the shite that has been served up previously - but as others have said it's not fair to start separating any success from the manager while attributing all the blame. But I see you're not actually doing that, entirely.
  2. The most welcome thing about yesterday for me, was that the team didn't fold when Norwich got it back to a goal away, twice, and that they went on to take the win in style - this after Cardiff and Reading. We have needed to find another way, since Kodjia/Jedinak has been injured and I believe this has to be it. What does this come down to? Has to be the quality of the players recruited, combined with having settled in - Whelan and Hourihanne were unrecognisable yesterday. Again, I don't see this as being within Bruce's gift to affect positively or negatively - so I bloody hope we have seen the last of 'typical Villa'. Hopefully Bruce is less afraid now he can see what the players can do.
  3. I think Bruce has an old fashioned approach to senior players - that they have to be given priority unless it goes really wrong. I really hope his swapping of Hutton for Bree last game is a sign that maybe he thinks they are at least on a par. Dunno why he does this, but I suppose there has to be some sort of hierarchy.
  4. Just watched the extended highlights again - have to say the team's passing, commitment, skill level was a joy to watch (aside from Hutton). This cannot be separated from the manager and coaching team. Just have to do this most of the time and we will quickly find very little to moan about.
  5. I'm assuming Gallagher is a big lad who will hold the ball up and score a few - IF SO - then we must get him in, him and Davis to choose from for that role would be excellent squad depth.
  6. 24 hours? We had a nice brief moment at half time when everyone was chuffed (I think) and going on the lack of activity on VT after the game, a sure sign of mass victory beverage consumption. But a whole 24 hours without finding fault? C'est impossible mon petit choufleur.

Yes, next year in the championship when the parachute payments are gone. I'd be happy with that, oddly enough.
  8. Bruce has got to reward performance, will be gutted to see Gabby picked ahead of Davis unless Davis gives him good reason to.

Or not playing Alan Hutton - wouldn't make a jot of difference.

Read that his old coach described him as 'deceptively quick' - then looked at the highlights and definitely, his acceleration with his size is a terrific asset - let alone his skill and decision making - this really feels like the start of something big.
  11. I swear if we'd just played Bree from the start of the season our goal difference would be better by 3 or 4.

    Davis with Hogan could work.
  13. Booooooooo - Americans. Irony aside I was trying to explain US football to a kid earlier - they said but they use their hands not feet!
  14. Gabby been ok this season. But Davis had this weird thing about him. It was like he was hungry to succeed. And skillful.

It was his first start no? (or nearly first start?) Also, there is a type of fan who will turn on a young player - and I aint it. He had MASSIVE PRESENCE, and some skill - good lad.
  16. I thought it was good that he felt pressured, he should. Like you, I want a different future, good football and something modern. But I can't discount the hunger of Davis, or the desire of Hourihane, It all has to be considered. Would have been much easier if we'd lost badly today. But we didn't and it has to be considered. that's all.
  17. I do. Had it running on a windows 10 machine today, there was MASSIVE LAG (love that phraze) when it was doing its DRM checking - unlike on a macbook - but nice to have it on the TV and have the laptop free for VT.

    that's a crap assessment
  19. I am not Bruce in, he has to be judged on points, but he did say he wanted a win to shut people up - TBF he got it.
