  1. It will be soon. I can understand those that didn't want an FA Cup run, we didn't have the squad depth to go on all three fronts and injuries haven't helped, but it is still a trophy that I really do want to see us win. Worryingly similar to how the Newcastle game went and our visitors on Sunday will see their chances of a win, as much more likely following those two performances. UE picked a full strength team last night and will have been as disappointed, as those of us that witnessed their capitulation. 15 cup finals to go after this to secure CL qualification, which is our primary target. We need to show much more on Sunday and in those remaining games, and to somehow find our missing consistency.
  2. Are you on an Avanti train from Euston, by any chance?
  3. 9 miles for me now, does that get those of us that miss out on the "halo of awesomeness" thanks to the metric system a "halo of slight smugness" at least?
  4. So could I from 2 miles away (but less as the crow flies). It was a great to hear the crowd roar!
  5. So would I, but I will gladly take any sort of wins. There is no price tag, he's priceless and he's not for sale to anyone.
  6. Whatever it was, his recovery from it is taking longer than was anticipated, as was/is the case with Ramsey and anyone else these days. We simply can't afford to be without our starters. That said, we also can't rush them back before they are ready. Catch 22 isn't it?
  7. I think we might. Who knows, his goals may make the difference in the run-in?
  8. He would say that though, wouldn't he?
  9. 100%, it is something that no Villa fan has ever witnessed before and we were among the lucky ones that were there to see it. I had almost forgotten how bad it feels to lose at home, but it came back like a bad penny last night. Time to start another good run then!
  10. No, his first test was when he took over from Stevie G and turned that team into winners. He's passed every test that has been put before him since and he will pass this one. There have been bumps in the road (but fewer than we could have anticipated) and UE will have a plan already in place to have us bounce back again. Our midfield has worried other PL teams for a year, so you are not alone there. £50m for Douglas? You cannot be serious! I think most of us knew we could do with three players in this window, but it was FFP not our owner's that prevented it. Our owners have backed us in every way possible since they took over the club and would have done the same during this window, if doing so would not have led to a points deduction. As for buying a "championship player" if UE wanted him, that's good enough for me! Villa teams have started well in the past, but have also faded in the crucial run-in, when winners find an extra gear. We didn't fade last season and we haven't faded this season yet...and I don't want to bet against us!!!
  11. Their spokesperson has said, ""We are very disappointed with this outcome and do not understand its rationale. We feel that it undermines the integrity of the competition and of the women's game.". Oh woe is me!
  12. If that proves to be the case, he would be an option on our bench, I'm sure he's up for adding a couple of medals to his collection. Won't the US transfer window still be open after our one has closed too?
  13. This window is reminiscent of the transfer inactivity at times under HDE and Randy, other than we are actually looking good where it matters on the pitch and just in need of a little fine tuning that FFP currently prevents. We are now reduced to talking about players that other teams might sign (Toney) or a player that we may need to let go due to FFP constraints (Jacob). I want us to keep what we have got and to somehow bring in 2 or 3 quality players in this/the next window to supplement them by other means. However, should UE decide that he needed to sell to buy (something I hoped, I had heard the last of at our club) and should none of the players we now have, be pressing for a move in the summer, would we prefer to keep Jacob Ramsey at the club, if doing so would lead us to having to sell Emi, Douglas, Pau, Kamara, Ezri or Ollie for example instead?
  14. I understand Toney is running a book on him joining Arsenal. 2/1 this window and Evens next.
  15. He scores PL goals and Brentford will want top dollar for him, I wouldn't think he will go for less than £90m and the clubs that will be in for him won't quibble over what is "spare change" for the likes of them.
  16. Agreed, it will probably be nearer £100m though.
  17. Plop in the semi's anyone? Just like we burst Stevie G's bubble, when everyone was looking forward to his last game being at Wembley in the FA Cup Final (least said about the final itself the better), wouldn't it be sad if we did the same to Jurgen? I know I'm getting way ahead of myself, but it is a lovely thought.
  18. Decent home draw. Fingers crossed we get there and that proves to be the case. By the way, I can't help but thinking, was Glen Johnson really the best former player that they could find to do the draw? Did they just walk out and ask the first former player that they spotted?
  19. Not known yet. I suppose the FA will ask Chelsea when they would like it played and we will be expected to fit in with their plans.
  20. I see Coral have us at 16/1 to win the cup, but Chelsea are 10/1! A nice easy home tie would encourage our team to prove the bookies wrong! We all know it will be Liverpool or one of the Manchester clubs away though.... I think they will get knocked out by Leicester.
  21. In the hat for the 5th Round draw then, is that Wembley that I can hear calling?
  22. Kenny? (Don't take your gloves to London town)....
  23. Haven't they bought that Icelandic keeper that was reported to be on his way to sign for us?
  24. I seem to recall a club being thrown out of the FA Cup quite recently for this. It was Barnsley in November. They said it was an administrative error and played the player in a 1st Round replay at Horsham, which they won.
  25. They can soon change that and probably will.
