  1. It seems to me that it's the implementation of a sustainable expenditure plan that seems to be the gripe now.
  2. And the two or three seasons preceding those years we spent? Quite a flot. .
  3. Firstly, a budget based on income is not a flexible figure. If you need seven players or one player, it's the same. I think £20M as an arbitrary figure is competitive, I also think in the context of what we were building on it is enough to help us become more competitive. If it's sustainable and we continue to outspend our rivals, we should see an improvement year on year until we hit our ceiling.
  4. The information is available on the net, compile a league table of estimated club net spends for the premier league summer 2012 transfer window. See how we stack up against our rivals. It's a bugbear you're on, we want facts, because we're bored of hearing your opinion! lol. I think our transfer spend was competitive, I can't be bothered finding out, but I'm not the one going on about it all the time. I think we will spend more in January. On wages, I think we have a budget which is set against our income, therefore should be competitive.
  5. Signing this lad isn't much of a gamble. But if he isn't prem ready, which is likely, making this sort of signing your main signing could prove to be a mistake.
  6. Without looking I'm guessing, but I think our summer spending probably reflects that fairly. I think our wages must be low at the moment, but lets see what happens in January. I think we have the right manager and enough resources as a club to expect a top ten finish, I think Lambert will bring us that next season.
  7. I'm looking at the bigger picture. I think we have a good manager.
  8. Like I said, who we sign is the managers remit. If our budget is x, and based on revenue, we have to cut our cloth accordingly. Or do you want us to return to unsustainable budgets again, like you criticised us for doing before? You can't have it both ways.
  9. So you think he has got the manager appointment right. Good. That's cleared up. You think the players signed are not of high enough calibre? That's the managers remit, I think his £20M outlay was competitive and hopefully sustainable. The wage structure we can assume will be similar, and based on revenue. These are good things right?
  10. No disagreement here. But what are your views on what is happening now? We seem to entering a period of stability and that's a good thing, surely. Your concerns, or many of them are/have been addressed. Books are now seemingly being balanced, we have a sustainable transfer and wage structure, that's a good thing right? Or do you think we should have unsustainable budgets like the ones you criticised us for having in the past? We've appointed a young hungry manager who's stock is on the up, one with a great record. Would you have preferred someone else, older/with European experience? What are your views on the current situation and the future?
  11. Which is dictated by what we can afford.
  12. Which is the managers remit. That's balanced and fair.
  13. Yes, but we seem to entering a period of stability now and that's a good thing. Your concerns, or many of them are/have been addressed. Books are now seemingly being balanced, young hungry manager etc. What are your views on the current situation and the future?
  14. I think he's appointed a young on-the-up manager with a great record and backed him responsibly. The ball is in the managers court to keep us up, and I think he will do that. We are where we are due to a manager with health issues being replaced by a poorly judged appointment. But I think we've got through that period of instability, and furthermore I think we'll see a steady climb up the table over the next couple of seasons.
  15. Not a huge fan, he's slow and clumsy, but currently, I think his experience will help the others.
  16. Yeah yeah...but what about the BBC, aren't they rubbish.
  17. I think he's a good player. His passing is tidy and neat and his work rate is good.
  18. We've been blessed with good CB's down the years, Clark won't be one of them. It's an area to look at in January. Dunne is a better option (if fit) for the time being.
  19. Under Houllier he was playing vitrtually at LB, he's in his best position for me now - wide forward.
  20. I wasn't referring to the balance, but the inference that a left leaning media outlet makes the Republicans look like nutters. Fox news is pro Republican and they do the best job of all in that respect. In fact the BBC puts them in a much more credible light IMO.
  21. Yeah, I was thinking about that too. It might be me, but I thought WL had a higher camera. Edit - I'm sure I recall VP having a low camera pre Doug Ellis Stand days come to think of it.
