  1. The Pixies - Debaser Don't know about you, but I am une chien andalucia
  2. Did you hear about that bloke who was in a 3 way car crash with Michael Ballack's family, and a Mr and Mrs Smith? Luckily he was pulled from his car by the Smiths.
  3. My physio swears by ice, and it certainly helped my achilles injury recently. Resting your heels on an ice pack as you relax on the sofa is a bit different to clamping some frozen peas to your trouser assortment mind. Quite refreshing I should imagine
  4. Another mile and a half in the bank last night. I really didn't fancy it - it's really foggy up here at the minute, has been for days. I ain't seen the sunshine since, I don't know when. But out I went and felt much better for it. So if anyone's feeling like they should go, but can't be arsed, just get out and do it. BTW, the mile and a half last night felt much harder than the 3 at the weekend. Weird how that sometimes is innit?
  5. Jimmy Olsen Blues - The Spin Doctors Used to like a bit of them I have to say.
  6. Staying through at the girlfriends place in the wilds of County Durham for the Bank Holiday weekend. Given the amount of beer that is anticpated, I thought it would be a good idea to bring the running tackle. So, last night, I mapped out a route on mapmyrun.com (try it BTW, it's brilliant) for this morning. A nice 1.80 miles. Or so I thought. Not being too familiar with the area, I missed a turn off. After a while, I realised I'd gone wrong, but kept going until a recognisable landmark, so that I could re-map the route when I got back. It was hard work, and I thought maybe I'd put an extra half a mile on my 1.80. Once I got back and was compus mentis enough to operate a PC, I logged back in to mapmyrun and re-calculated. It was 2.99 miles! Longer than I've done for over 18 months. Get in. Gonna feel it tomorrow mind. At least until the Guinness kicks in.
  7. Mine's cos my brother used to be in a band called Saint Rose.
  8. Saw them at Glasto in 2005 and they were dreadful, so unless I caught them on an off day, I'm not buying this great live band business. Bought their first album, would give it about 3 out of 5, even though it was blatant Mondays/Roses/Primals rip-off. Everything I've heard since then just doesn't do it for me at all. Shoot The Runner? Shoot The Singer more like. And the new single 'Vlad the Impaler' actually made me turn the radio off when Radcliffe and Maconie played it the other night - it was that that prompted the thread. It probably wouldn't bother me if they didn't swagger about the place like they were The Stone Roses, or someone significant, as opposed to a jumped up pub band. I'd rather listen to Shed Seven, and that's saying summat. Soccer AM? Aye, I'll give you that like

Is it me, or are they rubbish?
  10. I'm no expert but some inserts might help with that Andy
  11. I've just found out the Clarskon was a 'car driver' in Mr Blobby's Christmas number one video. The case for the prosecution rests Your Honour
  12. I like the word. Your invention? All my own work Snowy, yes 8)
  13. I didn't say it was offensive. Let alone soooooo offensive. I just find it unsophisiticated and unfunny. Dropping caravans from cranes? Welcome to 1994. You might as well get Mr Blobby out of retirement and re-subscribe to Loaded. Not sure who you are quoting with the feminine side bit either, certainly not me. Good for you. Don't protest too much though.
  14. Nasty racism versus blokey buffoonery means the comparison was way off. And here's me hoping for a thread without bollitics.
  15. A lot is made of people who 'speak their mind' and have 'passion for what they do'. Whether I like them depends what it is that is in their mind, and what it is that 'they do' In Clarkson's case it seems to be blokey buffoonery and I wish he would keep it in his mind and make it something that 'he doesn't do'. Don't get me wrong though, I don't want him removed from our screens and I am happy to switch over. The Jim Davidson comparison is way off. Ask me if I like him though, and you'll get a no from me.
  16. My favourite book of all time. Not long finished the brilliant On Chesil Beach by the excellent Ian McEwan and am currently two thirds through The Mission Song by John Le Carre, which is very good too.
  17. I'm sure he's probably a nice enough bloke in private, but his uber-bloke persona does my head in. I genuinely stuggle to understand how people can watch Top Gear with him buffooning about all over place dropping caravans from cranes and that with that annoying little fecker halfway up his bum.
  18. If it's been a year, it's bound to take a wee while to get back to it. I'm sure you'll get there. Good that you've got someone to run with too, that'll help I'm sure. Might see if I can draft some poor bugger in for me to cough, splutter and sweat behind. Got some good trainers to help with knees? My achilles seems to be holding up well. Had plenty of physio on it too - by a bloke who used to work at the Stadium of Light. I always assumed it was as some sort of physio, but judging from the sports massage last night, it might well have been in the dungeons. Never said a truer word. Gonna have another go tonight, before having tomorrow off.
  19. me too. Going for a run tonight santa, my first for almost 12 months!! (knee problems from running - tendons!) How did you get on Jon? I didn;t go in the end last week for a couple of reasons, although mostly being lazy. Went last night though and did a mile and a half in just under 14 minutes. I don't think any of them Kenyan lads have got anything to worry about with a time like that, but, for a fat lad going out for the first time in 4 months, I'll take it. The important thing is that I got out and got amongst it.
  20. Good on you mate, keep up the good work.
  21. How long have you been clean HEITS?
  22. You enjoy that forthcoming winter now wontcha? :winkold:
