  1. I was there at Easter, blimey the people who run that place are mad! Those Everest windows are good though How long did it take for the tent to blow away? I've been there a few times now and yes, they're bonkers The pet sheep is summat else. The tent is a glasto, Big Chill and Tan Hill (twice) veteran so managed to stay up, but had definitely seen better days by the end of it, so we binned it. It's served us well though.
  2. At a recent stag do at Tan Hill, the highest pub in the country. 5 pints in and the tent had just been pitched in adverse weather conditions, only for it to brighten up immediately.
  3. You should enunciate better. That should help give them a better understanding of your intentions
  4. Not by 33 if I'm anything to go by tho Sellyoak. And I'm a Donington/Glasto/Big Chill veteran.
  5. Yep, and I'm 33 and full of cold. Woot!
  6. Can you imagine what life would be like if we could all read each other's minds? Can you imagine what life would be like if everyone read Ben Elton?
  7. On the back of a postage stamp by the sound of it Tamuff
  8. Only because most of those would break the 12 minute rule that Tony mentions before they even get to the bridge though Rob :winkold:
  9. :bonk: yet if you look at other music threads on this site, they all talk about chart bands (ie: the current Green Day thread). how is it that everyone thinks chart music is rubbish, yet pretty much everyone who talks about music on this site seems to talk about chart music. they just like to pretend its not chart music?? Some of it is good. Most of it is shite. I don't mind talking about the good stuff.
  10. Mostly bad. KoL, Green Day, The Enemy and The Probably are the only ones that might grace my generic MP3 playing device. The rest can never record anything again from my POV. Incidentally, how do you annoy Lady GaGa? P-p-p poke her face, p-p poke her face. EDIT: Franz Ferd-in-the-hand are alright too.
  11. Agree about the ref Witton. Can't see him letting Hatton do his thing inside. Pac with a mid to late stoppage I think (but I don't hope)
  12. Mike - have you seen a physio? I got a weekly massage on my achilles and, along with some balance excercises, calf raises, ice applications and use of one of those stretchy resistance bands worked wonders.
  13. Tony Cascarino's Full Time is good Trim. Not sure if this is included in your 'couple of Cloughies' but Provided You Don't Kiss Me: 20 Years With Brian Clough by Duncan Hamilton is excellent.

    Dr Pepper

What's bloody amazing is that a man with Shaun Teale as his avatar has a favourite drink involving amaretto and cranberry juice

    Dr Pepper

Haven't had it for ages, but used to find it OK. Quite good when hungover IIRC
  16. My favourite book of all time. Im reading this at the moment, not really 'caught me' yet, though i am only a hundred or so pages in. I was going to give it up for one of a dozen books i have waiting, but might give it a bit more time now! No pressure then Nigel. For me, it Hemingway's use of language as much as the story that makes it. Every single word is perfect and necessary. All killer, no filler. The fact that it's a right Boys Own Adventure romp with guns and horses and sultry Spanish maidens and that helps too mind And boyangel - if you like Brookmyre, I'd recommend both Colin Bateman and Carl Hiaasen.
  17. Nice one. Will definitely check it out. I think I've read all of the rest of his fiction, and some of his Sci Fi, which is excellent too, if not exactly my bag
  18. Can't beat a bit of Banksy like. Is Steep Approach... his newest one?
  19. Just started a James Elroy, the name of which escapes me. I really struggle to get to grips with his 50's LA slang though, so it may not last beyond 100 pages. Got Generation Kill lined up anyhow.
  20. Big fan of them both, but at the minute it's Elbow, purely because of the masterpiece that it Seldom Seen Kid
  21. 5 minutes of stretching, slow jog for a bit then up the pace after half a mile or so. My calves are knackered too and will tighten for days if I don't stretch properly before a run or footy, but they seem to be able to cope with up to half an hour of running. I'm not fit enough to do any more Getting some ice on them after each run might be an idea. If symptoms persist, go see a physio - you might find out that it's more related to your core strength and resulting posture, as mine did with a recent achilles problem.
  22. Aye, no trainers has always been the way amongst Budding young runners And I'll Decker anyone who says otherwise
  23. Just the mile and a half in the end, but it felt pretty good and I'll definitely up the distance next time. Wednesday by the look of it.
  24. Good for you Jon. Was just umming and aahing about getting out today. Will definitely do so now. After the FA Cup Semi though I think. Might try 2.5 if I feel up to it.
