Just watched the highlights. I think some people on here are being a bit harsh on Clark. As a defender, he tried to slide in and get the ball after another player gave the ball away in a dangerous position. As Clark dived in, Vlaar was running towards him, and saw Clark was making a challenge and jumped out the way. IMO, Clark was doing the right thing by attempting to get the ball, and Vlaar was doing the right thing by jumping over Clark because he thought Clark was going to get it. An early shout from either player was needed to avoid that situation. To be fair, I think it was miscommunication between the two players - it can and does happen a lot between two central defenders in all levels of footy.

I think Luna will be out starting LB. Anyway Herd is a back up to Lowton, as is Bacuna - he can also play there.

He scored again today, another header! He's meant to be great with his feet lol, hardly ever scored headers at his previous club.

This guy is a beast in Fifa! Play him in the number 10 role and shoot from outside the box - he's only rated 67 overall but he's really good. Fast as well.

So my whole social appearance is in question because I find it a disgrace that John Carew openly admits he ripped off the people paying his wages? I assume you go into work every day and give 100%, full throttle all the way. You never take sick days, you never turn up with a hangover... Yes, i love my job. If the job you have on offer is one I will love, I guarantee you I will be the same. I have also genuinely never taken a sick day. I dont give a 100% when I am in a job I don't love. Hence why I don't believe Carew loves Villa as much as he makes out on twitter. On the money front, I get paid an embarrassingly low wage for what i do, but thats the industry i work in tbh. Now I appreciate your point regarding difference in wages, but Im not so sure your experiment has taken you to paying people £65,000 a week for a couple of hours work per day? I think you can appreciate that it should be much easier for footballers to give 100% for the full time they are at work as oppose to the everyday man. Anyway, this is taking us away from Benteke. Id be quite interested in your response so PM me if you have one. (Not expecting a job offer btw ) Just wanted to chuck my 2 cents in, it's clearly evident Carew loves Villa. He's got nothing to do with the club, or football I think (he's turned to acting and poker it seems like) but still looks out for Villa news, and interacts with Villa fans the most on twitter. Now Carew is a striker, and where ever he has gone, he's scored goals, I'd say, effort-wise, he's probably been the exact same as Darren Bent in terms of chasing back, doing more 'team work' etc. He's paid to score goals, and we can't say he didn't do his job well because he scored goals, vital goals, when he played for us. OK, he went missing in games and his personal life shenanigans were evident, but we knew that when MON bought him. He was bought to score goals and he did just that. IMO I don't think you can say he's ripped the people who payed his wages off at all.

There's plenty of Benteke's out there. We just gotta find them. And who found him and took a chance on him in the first place? Paul Lambert. You can bet he's already got a replacement lined up if Benteke leaves. If he does leave, Villa will get what they wanted out of him valuation wise. If not, he has to play well as it's the season before the World Cup. Win/Win situation.
