Well, yes, that's why I wrote that we shouldn't have serious interest in them. Perin makes sense, though. I overlooked him because I was looking at Juventus' current squad and he was at Genoa this season.

I'm not sure we should want to, either.

I don't know how much higher they'd have finished, but if they'd finished the season I'd bet they'd have finished higher than 7th. Fourth is out of the question, but they were two points out of fifth.

If he were 22 I'd be open to it, but he's already 26 and largely is who he is. To me this smells of an agent trying to stir up interest.

For context, Cervi ranked 73rd in Portugal last year in non-penalty goals per 90 at 0.11 and 93rd in the league in non-penalty goals plus assists per 90. He's not even a good player in Portugal!

Franco Cervi would be an excellent signing in that it will give VT somebody to complain about next summer when posting "we need to sign quality players, not squad filler like Cervi."

I'm an American who didn't start paying attention to this sport until his early 20s, and the idea of the lower leagues of English football being used by B-teams seems like sacrilege to me. The lower leagues are a huge part of what makes English football great. To get rid of teams and further "corporatize" things so that it's roughly 20 clubs owning the entire country would destroy the very fabric of the game.

If there's any truth to it I would think it's as a left wingback type of role. If it's as a winger, I'll pass.

He's still young so there's plenty of room to grow, but his attitude seems like a problem. There's a difference between tenacity and just being a clearing in the woods, and I think he's more of a clearing in the woods at times. That said, it could just be a result of all the problems at Arsenal this year. But even if that's the case, I'm not sure I could cope with having some Kenny G/Yanni lovechild roaming the midfield at Villa Park.

I'd rather spend £10 million on a 20-year old with potential over the summer than £10 million on another Samatta in January.

The buzz around Napoli on Lozano right now is he's going to be reunited with Ancelloti at Everton. Everton and Napoli are already working on a deal for Allan to join Everton, and there have been Lozano discussions as well. Carlo's getting the band back together.

Would certainly be an upgrade over Targett. Slightly in attack, and massively in defense.....if he's healthy. He's dealt with knee injuries the last couple of years. He'd likely come cheap because of it, but if he does and he's able to stay healthy, it'd be a good move.
