  1. I listened to this today and it still sounds fresh and vital to me.
  2. I've been really disappointed with it thus far, and B.R.M.C. are a personal favorite. The first track is alright, but the rest of it strikes me as bland and dull. It's not their debut or 'Baby 81,' that's for sure.
  3. USA debuting their new centennial kits tonight against Costa Rica. You can barely see them as they're playing on a snowy pitch, but they look great otherwise.
  4. Clint Dempsey finishes a deflected shot from Jozy Altidore to put USA up 1-0 against Costa Rica on a snowy Denver evening.
  5. http://youtu.be/1vU6a7Haw78 This track has been growing on me. It's got a Stone Roses kind of thing going on.
  6. http://vimeo.com/59282725 This is has been getting the 'Repeat1' treatment from me today.
  7. To be honest, apart from 3 great tracks the rest of the album is pretty much filler. However, far be it from me not to live up to expectations.... I've seen them twice in the past year or so, and their live show is well worth the price of admission.
  8. Ireland: It's a book, ya know, like the internet on a page. Kid: Does it play Call of Duty? I took the liberty of fixing your post: Kid: It's a book, ya know, like the internet on a page. Ireland: Does it play Call of Duty?
  9. I've spent enough time around the forum to know that you've got to take everything CI says with a pinch of salt, but in this case, I think the change in attitude is understandable. At the beginning of the season, everyone knew Lambert and the team had their work cut out for them, and I think everyone knew relegation was a possibility. But I think it's natural for us to have assumed the fight against relegation would somehow be valiant -- that we'd be able to get behind a team and manager fighting tooth and nail to beat the drop. But the truth is, none of us have seen a whole lot of that, have we? In reality, our slide into (possible) relegation has more closely resembled free fall and capitulation than a valiant fight to the end. It's not been the Charge of the Light Brigade, it's been Keystone Kops. That appearance, coupled with the empty monotony of "we go again" after every hiding is demoralizing as a supporter. Changing attitudes toward Paul Lambert and the team from the support may have more to do with that appearance than our place in the table.
  10. I have nothing constructive to add. I've tried so hard to be stoic and thoughtful in the face of the past few tumultuous seasons, but it's gotten to the point where I'm actually curious to see how low Villa can go. My waning hopes for the club have been dashed completely and my feeling toward the team has turned into this weird kind of schadenfreude. We might as well just rip it up and start again. This is what I get for choosing to support teams without a damn chance of winning anything. Eff everything.
  11. Is calling out a lousy team for being lousy bias? As far as I can tell, we're every bit as awful as they're saying we are.
  12. These guys look like they've never played in a 3-2-5 before.
  13. Yeah, he's been really solid with Roma this year, commanding a starting spot in a pretty formidable midfield. He's responsible for a bad touch here or there, but he provides an imposing presence on the pitch and I think he has a really high ceiling. His improvement is constant and continual. His positioning and tactical sensibilities have improved vastly, and I think he's becoming a very well-rounded player. Future USA captain, for sure; he conducts himself like a captain right now and commands that respect. I can't help but smirk every time I think about comments on VillaTalk to the effect of him being "the worst player to ever wear a Villa shirt." We could sure use his bite in the midfield right now.
