  1. Wouldn't play Delph or Vlaar again, too many players like Delph bang on about loyalty, how many good seasons has he had, possibly 1, rest of the time he spent it being injured. As for Vlaar, agree he'll be off to Rome in the summer, a slower paced game where his calf doesn't fall apart.
  2. It's been a problem for a while, I don't think we have played a back four more than 5 games consecutively since Lambert has been here.
  3. I don't think so. Both did very well, so probably the order stays the same. I disagree. There's no reason to think that Okore was losing out to Clark because there was some kind of order. My bet is that Lambert knows perfectly well Okore is a class act, and this performance by Clark is enough to keep Clark in the picture as backup, nothing more. I'm not sure what your conclusion is mate. Clark did well enough to continue being back up to Vlaar, Senderos and Baker, or Clark did well enough to continue being back up to Okore? I think Lambert was forced to play Okore since Clark was the only other fit. Had one of the other three been fit, Okore would've been on the bench. I think if Baker had been fit, Okore would have played to get the balance at CB. We have seen that Baker and Clark is like a car crash waiting to happen due to Clark not being comfortable on his right foot.
  4. Senderos, Baker and Vlaar out for Mon. So if Okore doesn't feature on Mon, then I'd think it would mean he isn't in Lamberts plans.
  5. I actually think playing Clark as a DM, has taken him backwards. I remember his debut against Fulham under MON, looked a very assured CB, think half the problem with CB's is they need a run of games in the side. Since Lambert has been here I'd be surprised if we have had a CB pairing that has played 10 games consecutively. On Clark, think like Bannan, they are too much in a comfort zone here.
  6. The Norwich team, from lamberts last game, a 2-0 over us in 2012 Ruddy, Naughton, Martin, Ryan Bennett, Lappin, Elliott Bennett, Johnson, Hoolahan, Howson, Holt, Jackson. Only kyle naughton out of that team are still in premier league. There's no way that team is better than what we put out yesterday, Imo. It's a better side in terms of how they played, his Norwich side played better football due to the freedom he and his team had.
  7. Pulis managing Palace is a walk in a park, remember every single person had written them off. Even Lambert's Norwich side is better than this side.
  8. Honestly think Bent has to play in this. But no doubt we will start with Gabby.
  9. Unfortunately, these are three things that I saw Jack rarely attempt in his first team appearances for us. Though I'm not Lambert's biggest fan right now (who is?!), I don't think Grealish is ready to provide the spark that we want him to. He needs game time, but I don't think he should be starting just yet. In saying that its hard to judge a player who has only played 98 mins over 4 games. Be barely warmed up when the game would be over. And for them 10 mins against stoke he has done as much as Wienman has since last Christmas. Considering Weimann got the winner against Stoke. So you think Weinmann should be on before Grealish at the moment then? Didn't say that did I, you stated that Jack had done as much in 10mins at Stoke than Weimann has done for us since last Xmas, which obviously isn't true.

  11. might be wrong but I dont think any foreign manager with no UK mnagerial experience has ever saved a team in a relegation battle on a mid season appointment. look at Solskjaer and Magath last season Pocahontas at Southampton did. This is a myth, Southampton weren't on the verge of going down, they had some very good results under Atkins before he was sacked.
  12. Houllier would have been kept on but when he gave the plans to Lerner to completely revamp Villa, he wanted to ditch big money players like Warnock, Collins, Dunne, Ireland at that time and knew that these players wouldn't really bring in much income, he then wanted to spend on the likes of Cabaye and Sissoko.
  13. Benteke has played one full game with those full backs, and as for Bertrand, he played about 4 games with CB and can't remember a single chance or goal he created for him.
  14. Then surely as the owner you lower the asking price to make it more appealing. Why would he? Compare our facilities to Crystal Palace, massive differences, attendances etc. This isn't Harris rejecting Villa, it's more him choosing a club he can afford to build up, rather than the mass investment we need. Even if he bought it for 70M, our fans would expect huge amounts to be spent immediately.
  15. The problem with buying Villa is the expectation it would bring, the money it would need to appease fans. No offence to Palace but it's easier for an owner to progress at a slower pace due to the size of the club. As in reality on the pitch Villa and Palace are at a similar level.
  16. Surprised this hasn't been mentioned but seen a report saying he doesn't want to come back.
  17. Eh? Where on earth have I even implied that? But the fact is that the signing of both players was defended on the basis of them having a positive influence on the younger players. It's desperate nonsense in an attempt to defend yet another piss poor piece of business. So you know for a fact that they haven't had a positive influence? Yeah thought not. Piss poor comment desperately trying to bad mouth the club at any opportunity. Post on poster. I don't, and indeed, don't need to "bad mouth the club at any opportunity". But you do anyway,
  18. Osvaldo and Ramirez, come off it mate. The three key players he lost was Lallana, Shaw and Lovren. The point which you seem to have missed is, he still had a solid base of players as well as having the finances to replace the players that had left. He's done a good job but lets not miss the obvious point that Soton are in a far better position than us financially.
  19. Did I say it absolves him of all blame? However using Bertrand as an example as a point to his coaching, could be easily be countered by using Delph's progress or Benteke's.
  20. I haven't seen a lot of Southampton bar the highlights. What are the tactics making Bertrand flourish there compared to here? Better cover for him so he can get forward more, more space opening up infront of him with Saints midfield set up, better coaching of game understanding on the training ground from Koeman? (a very good defender in his day). Or he's actually in a better team with better players. Doesn't surprise me Isa comes out with this coaching, lets not forget Koeman has spent more in one window than Lambert has spent in his whole tenure at Villa. We buy Westwood for 1.5million, they buy Wanyama for 12.5million. People will say well they sold players, but they had a good business model for a manager to work with to create funds, unfortunately we don't.
  21. Jack Grealish @JackGrealish1 · 2h 2 hours ago Some stuff in the papers today about me that I didn't even no myself
  22. Lambert said he played against Leicester reserves and scored.
  23. Doubt he will play tomorrow, considering that his first training session will be today after being with Colombia.
