  1. “If someone matches that buy-out clause there is nothing we can do about it but until that happens he is an Aston Villa player and we are all very pleased about that." That's not him saying he's staying does it, he think he's staying based on that no bid has come in that has matched the clause, once that is done, he will be gone.
  2. So basically as you were, they have no idea if he wants to come.
  3. The issue here is the risk to go abroad and find a goalscorer but do agree Reilly may be inclined to look abroad, especially if QPR know we have the CB money, they will try and hold us to ransom.
  4. They were great passes, for sure, but are hardly indicative of his overall passing ability. It's all about consistency at this level; if he could do that a lot more frequently, he'd be a much better player but he's just as likely to give it to the opposition as he is play a scintillating through ball. You say he isn't great at passing however let's compare him to the other RB you say we should stick with i.e. Hutton. Hutton pass success % was at 76.4 Bacuna pass success % was at 78.6 Considering he only made 10 starts in the PL last season and got 5 assists. Hutton got 0 and he started 27 games in the PL. Like I said if we work with him and make him into a full-back instead of a utility man we can make him into a well-rounded full-back.
  5. I think 15m is what they'd accept, he's got a year left on his deal, paying 18m for him would make no sense at all for me.
  6. Which also means Fox and co will be looking to sell this summer.
  7. Who exactly is he respected by to give him credibility? He actually is a journalist for HLN, a newspaper for Belgium. He is in direct contact with Benteke's agent, in fact when CB had done his Achilles tendon he was the first to report it before anyone at the club. If he is reporting that Benteke deal is nearly done and wants to go to Liverpool, then I'd believe that is what Kismet is telling him.
  8. I think the issue we have is we never actually give him a position, he's like the utility man. I think if we actually kept him at RB, he'd get better and better at it.
  9. For me if he was content on staying I'd say keep him, but the rumours coming out is that he wants out and has done since the season has ended. So for me selling now for 32.5m is the best option, also on top of that the club will want to sell as he has no intention of signing a new deal.
  10. Can't pass but made arguably two of the best passes for us this season. That pass to Hutton against Bournemouth and the one to Cleverley. Can't pass though.
  11. I'd want him in any sort of deal with Liverpool for Benteke, plus it would royally piss off the Baggies.
  12. Stevo will be delighted, last chance Brad. Hopefully he improves.
  13. It was clear in Sherwood's interview, the first thing he stated was he wants players in, now it's up to Fox and Reilly to sort that part out.
  14. We need to start releasing players then, currently we have 26 players over 21.
  15. How can anyone be front runners? Pay or do not! Basically he means they are the only party interested currently, so the front runners.

  17. Though you said in a previous post that he is nowhere near Guzan's level? If Guzan remains he knows he will be No1 without any pressure in the world.
  18. You will be surprised but he is going to get a chance.
  19. So another year of Guzan coasting as he knows he's No1. I imagine Sherwood dropping Guzan last season is more than enough to reassure Guzan that his position isn't safe and if he's not on his game he'll be dropped. Guzan wasn't dropped because Given was playing really well. He was dropped because he made a mistake. The quality of the backup keeper had little relevance to the situation Guzan will coast it, knowing as you said Bunn is no where near him in terms of ability. With Shay as proven in the cup games was more than able to step up.
  20. So another year of Guzan coasting as he knows he's No1.
  21. No chance, .........unless they are offering him another 5 year deal. He is very close to Hughes and wouldn't have to move, so wouldn't surprise me if he went there to be No2.
  22. Stoke have apparently stepped in for Given now.
  23. He is a far better CB than he is RB. Not sure about that. Has he ever had a real run at centre-back other then his initial breakthrough when he was like 17/18? I'd say he is rather unproven in that position. From a City Fan http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2049405-micah-richards-could-save-manchester-city-career-with-centre-back-switch
  24. They actually haven't, the Dutch have just quoted Birmingham Mail that we've offered that for Chery.
  25. But only Liverpool in the PL want CB.
