  1. Depends on when the trial was, in his interview he said he was a keeper to start with, so maybe he had a trial as a keeper and was deemed not good enough, then changed position to a CB later.
  2. Put it this way paltry enough for him to sign for Greek club where the country has no money.
  3. Sinclair, Richards and Lescott for about 3.5m, credit to the club on that. I think we are all worried about replacing Benteke's goals, that's the whole issue, the only player who really scored for us was Benteke, now we have to change that. I'm happy with our dealings but as Tim knows it's a results game, if he starts winning then our view of the signings will get higher, if we don't then you all know what happens there.
  4. I agree. But on the other hand he's played about 90 minutes for us so far. So there's a very good chance once he settles in he'll start making those decisions correctly more often. No doubt he will and think that's why he has moved here. Shame he might miss tomorrow think he would have had a field day against Sunderland.
  5. If he had all that in his game then he wouldn't need to come to us. He looks impressive but he has lots to learn and were going to have some fun watching it happen. UTV Agreed, but that's the point I don't think a left back can really stop him if he gets running at them it's just the final 3rd he lacks in decision making but it's scary to think what Barca have.
  6. The thing with Traore will be, he will beat most left backs with his pace and power however he will frustrate at times, his final delivery isn't that great and sometimes he doesn't release the ball at the right time.

  8. He's been injured hence why Sanchez and Baker played.
  9. Latest comments from Tim seem to indicate he is planning on keeping Senderos.
  10. Well if the baggies dont think he is good enough to get on their defense and they are letting him go to replace by Evans then he certainly isnt good enough for us He's likely looking for a new contract and they don't want to give him one, so they're cashing in. I don't think this is true, Ever since Villa interest has become known to him he has wanted to come here, maybe because his best pal is here as well as him being a Villa fan. He's a decent defender and his experience would add to our squad IMO.
  11. I think a big problem for us, we still have a lot of deadwood who don't have an interest in moving. Until the likes of Richardson, Senderos, Tonev, N'Zogbia, Cole, Kozak move on can't see us adding to the squad.
  12. Exactly right. I made the point earlier. If he'd given that ball to Hutton, or Joe Bennett, or Cissokho then it wouldn't even be mentioned. I'd also say that if Bunn had done it it wouldn't have been mentioned either. Genuine question, has anyone seen any pundit, commentator or reporter even mention Guzan when talking about this goal? Now Carragher and Ian Taylor have mentioned, yes the witch hunt against Guzan continues. So this is the point really, this notion that Guzan can take absolutely no blame is not right IMO, when two pundits as well as fans have stated he had a part to play in the conceded goal.
  13. Think he is going to Mainz, that would be a good move for him IMO.
  14. Didn't Carragher say it was Guzan's fault? Just to point out that a pundit has looked at it and blames Guzan for it, so this no blame lies with Guzan is nonsense.
  15. The chairman hasn't backed us. Liverpool and Man City have backed us. Just to correct you it was actually Man City that backed us haha
  16. Wouldn't read too much into what Tim Says to the media, I don't think we have much left and it's possible we will be looking at the loan market.
  17. According to what? Your favourite source Twitter.
  18. Adebayor looks like he's on his way to West Ham.
  19. Nonsense, Amavi is to blame it was absolutely nuts to do what he did, but no blame for Guzan? It was a combined error by both IMO.
  20. Guzan did very well to claim to the ball, but with two mins to go I cannot see why the hell you'd want to counter when it simply wasn't on, none of the other players were looking to counter either. You as an experienced keeper would calm the situation down, I don't know what's so hard to understand in this.
  21. Hang on did I say Amavi was not at fault? He's equally at fault as is the keeper. You are saying Guzan, this great keeper who let's not forget has played over 100 games, with two minutes to go decides to throw the ball out after 8 seconds when the players haven't even got into their position. It was a stupid decision. You will never get your head around people criticising Guzan, I seem to remember you had the same faith in Carson.
  22. You will see no top keeper not assess the situation, seeing that half of the Palace team hadn't even got upfield before distributing the ball out with two minutes to go of a game that they weren't losing in. So yes Really!!
  23. This seems to be back on. Is there any legs on this mate, seems to be the rumours on Twitter? But anything from Czech?
  24. He made an error on Saturday, you will see no top keeper doing what he did with two minutes to go, I've seen some keepers at VP keep the ball for literally 10 to 15 seconds after they've claimed a corner and that's in the middle of a game, our keeper decides to release it after 8 seconds with two minutes to go. He really wasn't that great two seasons ago either. He's an average keeper and will remain to be IMO.
  25. Yes but their keeper will actually wait until half of their players have actually got into their positions before throwing it out. It was stupid from Guzan and then stupid from Amavi. A keeper has the whole picture of the pitch and what the situation is, that's why they keep hold of it longer to calm it down, considering Palace had been on the attack. I don't think Guzan should be blamed for punting it, but you see better keepers, hold onto the ball longer to calm the whole game down. Guzan did wait. People keep saying he was being hasty. He wasn't. he had the ball for 8 seconds (2 seconds longer than he's allowed to have it according to the laws of the game). He rolled the ball to a player who was free. That player got himself into trouble. Guzan did nothing wrong. Literally nothing. You know that law is never adhered too anyway. You will see keepers keeping the ball for much longer. I think you debating about Guzan is literally pointless, even if he threw the ball into his own net, you'd come up with some excuse about it.
