Is that a bad thing? Possibly the best player in the Championship. Let's not be daft, Peter Whittingham would now get in our Midfield as would the likes of Craig Gardner. What position would you play Whittingham?

So what do you do? Not play a 24 million pound striker because his hold up play is not as good.. well if it's detrimental to the team if he does play, i don't see how we can keep him. when we had a midfield strong enough to have just two through the middle and still win a good share of the ball and when we had to wide players that got to the bylines and whipped balls into the box, i was all for Bent, the fact is we can no longer afford passengers in our team and all too often Bent goes missing. But I remember a game were bent was tracking back into his own penalty box, Gave away a foul.. But still shows his determination..Id just be really annoyed if we sold him to another club, and he started banging in the goals, whilst playing up front on his own. I mean Bent scored plenty of goals under houllier. I think it would be better to set the team up around supply to darren bent, rather than this defensive tactic where any striker in the world would sruggle.

# Darren bent is quite an intelligent striker, Always playing on the shoulder of the last defender worrying defences, looking to break the offside trap.. This would be perfect for Ireland.. where as gabby and Ireland do not make a good pair, because Gabby drifts onto the wings. So when Ireland is looking to make the pass forward to the srtiker, Gabby just isnt there and then Ireland has to pass back, But if we had Bent back.. Ireland would benefit much more.. And I think bent would too.. remember how Bent And Keane were, Great link up play, I think he could have that sort of partnership with Ireland to.

It makes no sense to have a squad player on 60K a week. Thats what we have our youngsters for..

What about if he gets injured playing for the reserves? its better to save him for the PL isn't it. No point in risking him.

People are not happy, but maybe some people see the bigger picture? Depends on what your definition of the "big picture" is. For me personally, it's looking at that bigger picture which makes me more horrified at the prospect of McLeish being here next season. He's proven that even when given time results don't really improve and that his teams are still mind-numbingly boring and devoid of attacking intent. McLeish is not the right manager for us. He never was and he never will be. He's not the manager you want building something at a club. Please for the love of God Randy get rid in the summer. There is no way RL is getting rid of him.. trust me i want it so bad to happen.. But I have a feeling that Fulham game just saved McLeish job, he will buy his own players in the summer, get sacked next season and we will be left with a squad full of AM Players.

We are being run by a dictator arnt we? Its not much of a democracy when every "citizen" of AVFC wants ECK out yet the top man keeps him as he has absoloute power. He owns the Club. Unless the fans stump up the money the Club, not our choice.
