  1. Frank wouldn't leave Chelsea until the end of the season even if Real Madrid came in for him, especially with various records within his target. He'll command a much higher salary at the end of the season too, so no chance.
  2. Our failings have been well documented in not replacing any quality that was in the team. Laursen, Mellberg, Bouma, Young, Barry, Milner, Petrov.... Looking around the other teams, i reckon even Sidwell and Collins would walk back into our first XI, from a quality perspective. In fact, there are many players that left for little money that would improve our team : The Hitz, Maloney, Routledge, Hughes, Gardner and of course Cahill. We have 3 guys that know where that back of the net is, yet no one to deliver them the ball. No one to stamp his authority in the midfield and take the pressure off the back four. No one to pull the occasional rabbit out of the hat by being a set piece master, be it a direct free kick, or sending in a corner. Even then we've hardly go the power and muscle to dominate the opponents box these days should a good corner be taken. Paul Lambert has been naive in his thinking. I genuinely think he thought there was more quality in the team hence how he spent in the summer. Having said that, we needed numbers too, so 24mill doesn't travel too far... Randy needs to back his manager and his investment. We do not have a PL quality team and any manager would be performing a miracle to keep this squad out of the bottom 3. I saw Randy and Faulkner in Hotel du Vin after the Wigan game with their partners and they looked glum and quiet. Surely they must realise what needs to be done?
  3. Good news is that 3 important players are out for Southampton: Font Lallana Mayuka But there'll still have attacking threat from Ramirez and Puncheon, plus we'll have to make sure that the experienced Rickie Lambert doesn't out wit our defence. I'm boldly (perhaps foolishly) going for a 2-0 win to the Villa!
  4. No manager is going to tell the market that he has a large transfer budget. PL has said he wants to strengthen, but has also said that he hates getting random agents constantly pitching shit players to him. I'm sure he's got some targets identified, otherwise there's no point in paying Henke's salary, and we'll see 2 or 3 new faces in this month. They may not be Couthino or Lescott, but I'm hoping they add some quality and resolve to our fragile team.
  5. Benteke should have had a couple at 0-0 to put the game out of sight. Still think we'll win this 90 mins.
  6. Benteke should have had a couple at 0-0 to put the game out of sight. Still think we'll win this 90 mins.
  7. Good but no Benteke (although I'm sure MOTD will jizz their pants tonight)!
  8. Cue another media wankfest over old ballbag face 'Arry Redknapp after his 'telling it how it is' after QPR's defeat. He's not wrong, just the love in from the beeb and Sky that's grates.
  9. BBC are creaming themselves over Downing's assist. Not seen it, what did he do?
  10. If Houillier can get us into 9th, then I'm sure PL can too! In all fairness, staying up s good enough for me this season, but I'm going to push the boat out. 9th it is!
  11. I use a BB as a work phone too, and agree that is has nothing on practically any other smart phone. I run a Nexus 7 tablet so have seen first hand what the latest Android OS can offer. Haing said that, I use BBM a lot and find it to be the best thing about Blackberry. The BB10 could potentially be a nice piece of software, and the initial browser tests seem positive. BB10 v iOS 6 and Windows 8 Wonder if the soft keyboard will be any good though?
  12. Anyone got any early info or opinions on Blackberry 10?
  13. Out of interest, it's been well documented that our starting XI cost around £12m on Saturday, but what do you all reckon they would be worth in the current transfer market? I'd say, outside of the big man, we have a team of £5m players. If PL can add one or two quality additions this window we'll e laughing.
  14. Stolen from Twitter: When Benteke looks in the mirror there is no reflection. There is only one Christian Benteke!
  15. If you look at his goal today, you'll see that Weimann's ball to Benteke was taking the big man away from goal, yet Weimann still surged into the box as if he anticipated the back heel. No other ball was on for him to make that run except or a back heel. No Liverpool defender tracked his run, giving him the space to receive the ball and finish with aplomb. That's the sign of an understanding between the from two, possibly from the training ground. Excellent play all round.
  16. The co-commentator almost has to counter the pro-Scouse bollocks
  17. My first chance to see Liverpool play live, ahead of our game against them. No actual strikers playing with Suarez out. I assume he'll be back against us right?
  18. Clattenberg, as fourth official, seemed to say something like "it was clear" when Ferge was ranting about Tevez's kick out. Does that mean he could receive retrospective punishment? Having said that, John Terry's account was that Clattenberg made a Hispanic racial slur.
  19. Yeah that's it. City fans showing their true class.
  20. Nasty cut to Rio's face. I initially thought he'd smacked himself in the face when celebrating.
