  1. Yes but apart from Chelsea, Southampton, West Ham, QPR, Sunderland, Newcastle, Wigan and Liverpool, no one's signed any players! And what have the Romans ever done for us?!?
  2. Oh how I wish Lichaj had buried that chance in the first half...
  3. Zoggy, Gabby and Benteke stealing the show, but think Vlaar has made a huge difference just by being in the team. Delph doing well too.
  4. Still won't be feeling comfortable until we've got a couple more goals.
  5. Love listening to John Gregory on the coverage over here. Clearly loves the Villa.
  6. Great work from Delph in the middle, breaking up play. Keep it up lads and let's get another.
  7. We've seen how quickly things can turn around, as it was only a few games ago that we were drawing with Arsenal and Stoke, and beating Liverpool. To gear up to life in the Championship when there's 16 games left to play and two teams behind us is ridiculous. It's still close in the bottom half of the table and adding some quality to the team could see us in a comfortable position.
  8. Do we think we'll have anyone in before the Boggies game?
  9. If Onuha is on £80k then that is shocking. Traore and Faurlin would do a job.
  10. I would doubt that Mbia or Diakete would be on the way out. Onuhua, maybe?
  11. 'Arry s also shooting his mouth off about Odemwingie and Livermore coming in. How does he get away with it? Anyway, looks like QPR will be strengthening for sure.
  12. I don't know the answer to that as I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but I'd also ask in the case of CNZ and Ireland particular, why it s that they can't motivate themselves in any way shape or form. They're grown men FFS, and their level of inconsistency suggests more than just Lambert's inability in this matter. If PL found something to make his job easier then he's not going to ignore it, surely?
  13. All well and good having Michu, but who in our team would get the ball to him? ;-)
  14. I said in an earlier post that the teams that have come up have more money and quality than the teams that went down. Plus teams like Fulham, Sunderland and Norwich have built to squads already better than ours. If AM was here this year we'd have even less points - in my opion of course.
  15. Spot on VillaCas. We needed quality AND quantity and unfortunately, as much as it sounds £20 million doesn't buy both without a huge swelling of an over already over inflated wage bill. As I said before, had he bought 3 quality players and we suffered from injuries, or bought another CNZ (that most on here including myself were happy with at the time), PL would be getting slated as another club had picked up the likes of Lowton and Westwood. **** either way, without more money to spend.
  16. I'm guessing it's as much to do with their attitude as it is their playing ability.
  17. We have fielded the youngest ever PL starting XI ever so, whilst they're not '17, 18, 19', there is blatantly no real leadership in the team. Unfortunately, the team is shite so Lambert not knowing how to get the best out of them is akin to him not knowing how to polish a turd.
  18. Agreed, but that could be down to a number of factors. Naivety, inability to land his targets, misplaced faith in the existing players after pre season, or an unwillingness to spend his budget on someone deemed not to be the right player. Whatever the reason, he needs to be able to put that right in this window.
  19. I think everyone, including PL underestimated just how much was wrong with the team. We looked at AM as a big part of the shitness, but it ran deeper than just him. The squad is shockingly poor, was the worst of the teams that survived last year. Now the teams that have come up seem to have more quality than the ones that went down, and more money to spend. Our squad was tiny and had some rotten eggs too, so however PL spent the £24m, there would be something that had to give. Had he added 3 x £8 million players and got the same level of injuries, we'd be asking why he didn't buy more players that were better value. Damned no matter what. What we need is part 2 of the budget to help complete this phase and push us out of the bottom 3. The combo of Randy and the previous managers have left us in this shit and we've been getting worse year on year whilst the opposition gets stronger. Changing PL won't help, backing him will.
  20. I don't think he's wasted Lerner's money in the sense that that money is now lost though. Irrespective of our season so far, Lowton, Westwood, Benteke and possibly Vlaar providing he stays injury free when he returns, will mow e worth significantly more than what we paid for them. Has he underestimated the quality needed in the team? Definitely, but Randy needs to trust him with funds to add real quality now that we've addressed the issue of quantity.
