  1. I find it interesting how long it took Lambert to start getting serious criticism and how quickly some want to give it to Sherwood.Mate, we just got smashed 6-1. Lambert took a hammering after the Chelsea 8-0 and rightly so. However, he is also getting lots and lots of praise for the work he had done. Again rightly so. We are Premier League thanks to him. It's still OK to be annoyed at taking a pasting yesterday, especially those who travelled and nobody is calling "Sherwood Out" because of it! I think those who travelled have a right to be annoyed but like I said, as soon as the spurs whistle went the result is meaningless. Its been a hard task, that didn't look achievable a few months back. Now it has been, along with getting us playing great stuff and to a cup final I have no idea why anyone (apart from those that went) would want to focus on it or criticise the manager for it. Because this is a forum and it's a place for everyone to vent their opinions on the manager, good or bad? I don't think only fans who went to the game have the right to criticise, we're all villa fans. Yeah I worded it wrong. Everyone has a right to be annoyed I just dont get why people want to criticise him after doing such a fantastic job. Obviously everyone can if they want but it makes little sense to me. He's done everything asked of him and more.
  2. Surprised this wasn't bumped. Another fantastic assist. Is he top of our assist charts?
  3. Looking forward to him getting a chance next season. Hopefully he can put those injuries behind him and start to fulfill his potential.
  4. It's the end of his first season back after a serious injury. Like others have said, I've seen enough to trust he will continue to improve.

  6. I think if you're going to mock someone's opinion its perfectly reasonable to have something as ridiculous as that brought up.
  7. I think there will be ups and downs but we won't be worried about relegation next season. And as long as we're doing well I see little point jumping on him for the odd times that go wrong. Same way it would be daft to jump on benteke for the odd game that he doesn't play well.
  8. To be fair you'd rather Gill here next season than Sherwood.

  10. What have I missed that so bad? Spurs did us a favour and we're save because of it. Nothing wrong.
  11. For those who went, I could understand being annoyed. As soon as the final whistle went at spurs, it didn't bother me one bit.
  12. Haha why? We've survived, job complete. Today's result means nothing. Why some are so eager to want to have a go at him is beyond me. Still want Gill here ahead of him? Why are you so surprised that people are criticising one of the worst villa performances many of us have ever seen? Because it makes no difference. I keep reading he deserves criticism. Why? Why do you want to go out of your way to criticise him. He's done a great job and completed the difficult task set for him. Why do you want to criticise him after that? What do you get from it after we've survived? Its not his team, its not something he's built over years. He's come into a difficult situation and been excellent. It hasn't always been great. So what?
  13. I'm not sure it makes much difference. Both have weak points and both are capable of doing decent things. I dont think either one are currently the difference between winning and losing.

  15. I couldn't care less about todays result. This is not his team, this is not a squad that have spent long periods of time working with the manager. It was a shit result during a magnificent period for us. **** it. The chances of that back 5 playing together next year is slim. We're on to bigger and better things now.

As its a meaningless game I agree. But if it wasn't I'd prefer Sinclair or gabby to take the place of nzogbia.
  17. Westwood was better than cleverly today. Much better.
  18. I think he's really succeeded in bringing a feel good factor back. Will you ever stop picking holes in others posts I wonder? I really like Tim and don't deny he has bought it back but he has had his bad days that has made me stop and think. Hence why I'm cautiously optimistic going forward rather than blindly positive. I can still enjoy today though and appreciate the work Tim has done since being here without getting down on my knee in front of him. I don't think you have to drop on a knee for him, I'm just surprised you think the feel good factor has just about come back. The feeling round villa park and at wembley since his arrival has been brilliant. That's up to you to feel like that, I'm just saying thanks to Tim and posting my own take on it. I've not said the feel good factor hasnt come for all just that for me its been slower. Results against stoke, Newcastle, Swansea, QPR and Saints today have made me stop from being 100% confident but I support him and hope he continues his success. Fair enough. I read it as the feel good factor on the whole.
  19. You're making a change to an event that happened and assuming everything happens the same way. Given didn't have much to do hence we'd have won if Guzan had played. But Given not playing may have led to other things happening in the game that meant it didn't play out exactly the same way. It's far too simple a thing to assume, like I said it doesn't work like that.
  20. Don't think it works like that. The fact is we won them with Given in goal and made a big difference after the loss against city I've read this post about 10 times and I still don't know what it means. It doesn't work like that? What, me thinking we'd have won those games with guzan in goal? No you thinking that works like that, but it's a meaningless statement. The last game Guzan played we lost, mainly down to him. We then won those games with Given in goal.
  21. I agree with most of that but it's the phrase tactically naive that I disagree with, like you say it's a harsh phrase to use towards him. We've had games that we've dominated and we've had games that have been poor or we've been unable to change. But if we're honest that goes for every manager outside probably the top 3.

  23. Tactically naive because of today? What about the games we've won and dominated? Do those tactics get ignored?

Hope he gets a start against Burnley and can play a big part next season.
