    Carles Gil

Messi - nope, probably in jest. As Isa said, he is a Silva-esque player. Not comparing their ability though. And your last comment, one person said that. And it's still being brought up 3 months later. 1 person said it and it got huge amount of likes in about 5 minutes. Another person said that he didn't rate Sherwood because Sherwood didn't rate Gill. There have been some ridiculous comments made about a player we dont even know is that great. Not comparable, just a fact that sometimes players can be ok to train but not able to play.

No its much more likely that its a conspiracy and Gil and his agent were happy to go along with it.
  3. Really good first signing under Sherwood. Happy with this.

Could it still not be a decision Gil has made?
  5. He's not good enough for this level. A very poor defender and his attacking play isn't good enough to compensate for it.
  6. Tom fox also said it wasn't really Lambert's fault a week before sacking him. And I imagine fox does want Lerner to stay, with Lerner in charge he's running a premier league club.
  7. Dunne and Collins were so much better in a villa shirt than Ron vlaar. Dunne has been much better than vlaar for most of his career and Collins is still better than vlaar now.
  8. Have to disagree. Clark has looked much more assured all season. Vlaar is too injury prone to depend on. Needs to be replaced but that shouldnt be difficult.Presumably you forgot the arsenal (home)game where the fans turned on him and the various match reports in the following weeks where people said they didn't want Clark to ever play for the club again To be fair to Ckark he did turn it around but it remains to be seen if he can keep the consistency What consistency has vlaar shown? Apart from consistently injured.
  9. Clark has been better than him most of the season and baker at times has been better than him. This isn't like losing a delph or benteke.
  10. From performances this season I'd say Clark is currently better than vlaar and okore has the potential to be.
  11. He's not unloyal, no one can expect loyalty in football. He's just an overrated average footballer.
  12. And that's what a new owner can introduce. It has to better than barely surviving under the current idiot.
  13. Why don't you just say what you know? I'm starting to think your ridiculous opinions on Lambert was more for attention now you seem to be seeking it even more the last few days.
  14. Overrated for most of his time here. Doesn't make those around him better and has never performed for us at the level he showed in the world cup. He would have been decent to keep him in the squad but in all honesty after 3 years here I wouldn't care one bit if I never saw him in a villa shirt again.
  15. Lambert is gone and surely we're getting closer to the day Lerner leaves. That makes me more optimistic than any of the last few seasons.
  16. So you know 100% fact that what we've spent on fees and wages is the absolute maximum possible?
  17. In terms of wages, it was probably very little.
  18. I don't know. Do you? I don't know the exact amoubt that we could spend but I don't have faith that the man who has run the club so badly for so long is all of a sudden going to do things brilliantly. Or that the man who admits he should have sold up years ago and wants nothing to do with us anymore is going to ensure we spend the maximum amount we can. I'm sure you do though.
  19. I would hope that to be the case and TBH it should be. I was fairly confident about that level of spending until Lerner's interview last week.
  20. True, the worst case scenarios were the same for all 3. Hindsight tells us the other 2 kept us up and I did say my post was 'concerns' rather than a predicted outcome The difference with Tim is that the other 2 had far less-polarising personalities and they were what I would call a safer (boring perhaps?) pair of hands at the wheel. Tim is likely to have more highs and lows. He will definitely be more exciting. I just hope he can get us the points in the process and NOT have it all come crumbling down because of that mouth. They did keep us up but I think its fair to say we were only going one way at the point they were both let go. I don't get that feeling with Sherwood, I think next season will be an improvement on the last 4. I'm not too concerned about what he says, I find it quite refreshing at the moment and if he brings in his players it shouldn't cause major issues.
  21. We're in this position because he's an awful owner who has made consistent bad decisions. And it is what it is, but I'm still doubtful we've spent the maximum possible even with our restricted limits. And when benteke is gone I'm doubtful we will see that reinvested at a decent level. And it now seems that FFP has given this awful owner an nice excuse to hide behind for some fans. When the man himself admits he's a failure and should have sold up long ago. Well, maybe Lambert was given money but chose not to spend it? I'm pretty sure someone said that, maybe Fox. I think we're all agreed that he should have sold years ago, i'm sure he agrees too. I'm not sure FFP is an excuse to hide behind from fans, FFP is real, we have to abide by it. And I question how much we're spending while abiding to it and how funds will be spent when benteke goes. No doubt it will all be down to FFP and nothing to do with our owner.
  22. It seems we're the only team in the league effected by FFP rules.
  23. Worst case scenario under Sherwood is relegated. Which was the worst case scenario under the last 2. Unlike the last 2 Sherwood has shown more in his short time here to suggest we won't be seeing that worst case scenario.
