I've got no real problem with him leaving for a bigger club, there is no loyalty in football and it goes both ways. Look at the stick the likes of heskey and bennett have had off fans. But whats really pissed me off with this one, is the way it was presented and the things he said when he signed his deal. That's whats made him worse than most others for me. He can get **** and unlike others who have left, i truly hope his career goes downhill.

He's making superb moves this summer and i couldn't disagree more when it comes to people not happy with him talking too much. After Houllier, Mcleish and Lambert he's like a breath of fresh air and I like what he says. I'm glad he wants to get rid of losers from the club, i'm glad he's come out and said we will never be in this position again under him. The man is a winner and is confident. We need someone like him taking the club forward. I was happy when he joined but I actually think he will have done much better than I initially thought he would once his time here is through.

Why wouldn't he give a clearly decent player the chance to prove himself? Ridiculous theories and digs thrown out last year that made no sense. What manager wouldn't want a talented young player in their squad and wouldn't want to see if they are good enough?

We've been an unholy mess for quite a long time, but Tom Fox and Sherwood look like they're going to start sorting it out. The bonus is that the main cause of us becoming an unholy mess, will no longer have anything at all to do with the club. I think things are looking much better than they have for a long time.

He has pace, which will always be useful in this league but he was just so awful and the fans had got fed up with him pretty quickly. I'd be surprised if he played any part this year.

I just don't understand why he isn't involved. What club doesn't use their captain in promotional material?

It would be a real shame if we failed to get taken over for the second summer in a row. Things look a lot more promising and it's good that Lerner has promised to not have anything to do with us from this point on, but I'd feel much better about the future if we were sold.

Good to see him in pre season, I'm sure he will get a chance, now up to him to prove to the manager he should be a regular player. I think he's capable of doing that.

You would have Gil in there instead of Grealish? And Vlaar instead of Clark? Tin hat on, but im gonna nip this in the bud. Gil is a better player than grealish. Ok we have not seen much of him, but watch him when at Valencia for proof. Also was in the under 21's for spain, he is no mug just has a bad rep becuase Sherwood has not played him. Grealish is one of our own, which is why most fans think more of him, but it would be Gill before Grealish all day for me. Grealish was the best player on the pitch in most of the games he started under Tim Sherwood.

But him staying or going will have a massive impact on the type of striker we should be signing.

Richards, Sinclair and Gueye are good signings. But this one would feel like a game changer if we can pull it off.

I still feel sorry for us having to go through 2 and a half years of Paul Lambert.

I think Sherwood and Fox will really put over a completely different villa to what lambert and McLeish would have shown.
