  1. The fixture list at the start of the season was not much better either but we did ok. The problem with us fans is we want it now. when we played Norwich we practically begged PL to join us. he has his work cut out and it is plain to see he is having an effect, good or bad though time will tell. Although I am as peed off as anyone with the results and the performances I feel we spend too much time looking at the fixture list analysing each game and expecting to see the results that we feel we will get. each game is different and both teams feel they have a chance, confidence is the key, any team looking at us will see points they can gain and this makes them up their game as well. If we were to play Man U we would expect to loose and so this sometimes helps. It is probably harder when you are expected to win with greater pressure, fine if you are on a good run and confidence is high but not so in our position. The only thing changing a manager does is give you a short term lift as we have seen others have, even MON had this at sunderland till reality bit and they went back to normal. I say give PL a chance, he has had the crap part of the job now lets see if he can turn it round and give us what we all including him want.
  2. How the hell will PL get Rooney to take a pay cut.
  3. I think the permanent signing could well be Anthony Pilkington. Would give us some width, scored 14 in 66 for Norwich, is 25 but experienced in the top flight and can play AM too. No idea on the loan signing though. Any thoughts? Milner... My thinking 2 but as the loan signing.
  4. It makes sense that we will be making 2 - 3 signings each window if possible to improve the squad, does it mean though that 1 or 2 will be leaving for this to happen. The fees mentioned though on a whole do not fill me with confidence as 5m really is just an average player where in reality we need maybe 1 or 2 players who maybe cost more but would ignite the enthusiasm in the support and the other players. As we know good players and a good manager attract other good players so maybe we need a talisman signing.
  5. There are many reasons he wont come out and say who he is as common sense would suggest. just be aware he has been proven by the mods and comments he has made and we are damn fortunate to have him comment on this forum. also dont give false apologies, it is wrong to say I apologize then say he is a fake. Another one - maybe it was when I was away in another country but I have not seen this "proof" - nor seen the mods endorsement. A lot are claiming it so surely it's easy to show and then we can forget all of this - is he / isn't he and discuss far more important matters - cheers You've been presented with the proof above. That you haven't witnessed it yourself or that you choose not to believe it is neither here not there really. You've asked for it and it has been given. Dave - what proof? - there is absolutely no proof at all - nor are there the validations from the mods etc - this is frankly ridiculous surely it would be easy to show clear evidence based on what some are saying, how come you nor any of the others will do that? Have you ever heard of confidences. If you dont want to believe in HH then fine - dont, I would rather this thread be filled with comments about what HH had to say than read comments about his validity..
  6. HH The comments you make are pretty fair and reflect what PL has been stating since he joined, as I said in another thread he had been riddled with bad luck with injuries etc but never complains and tried to work round it. He if nothing else deserves to be given time to get the squad to where he wants them. Alot of the negative comments though are caused by frustration, little possession, players with no confidence who can not pass wind at times, all people see is it looks like hoof ball where we eliminate the midfield. as I have said though it is a needs must situation and 1 I am pretty sure PL will correct when he can.

  8. God HH dont name him or the Mancs will buy him for their reserves.
  9. Thanks for that HH, Pretty much sums it up for me, Is it likely that RL will change the wage structure in the future though as income increases or is it going to be a case of having to operate at a profit to pay back loans and increased profits can speed this up. also it there ant truth in the rumours RL is looking for extra funds by selling shares to an interested party.
  10. Actually i seem to remember some fans moaning on talk shite that the money from the sale of the hair bear funded this loan and they thought it was monies wasted.
  11. Everton won't be paying anymore than 40k towards Barrys wages. That is I would guess around what Tonev, Kozak and Helenius are on combined. I would confidently predict Barry would have had a much more positive influence than those three combined. There is little doubt that Lambert has been stifled by the amount in terms of wages he has been allowed to spend. However he also has to make a choice in terms of who and how many players he wants to sign. You could make an argument that with Bennett and Stevens at the club did we need Luna. With Benteke, Weimann, Gabby, Bowery did we need Kozak and Helenius. etc, etc How do we know what Everton are paying, in fact how do we know we never tried to get him? As for Kozak at the time we thought CB was going and Kozak was his replacement, may have been too late to pull out when CB changed his mind.
  12. It has been said on numerous occasions that Barry and Young are non starters as the wages are way too high irrespective of how good they are.
  13. That is a bit unfair, it is common knowledge he had a wish list but had them refused by RL as there was no funds available.
  14. HH said what was available at the time but things change, maybe there is more available now, maybe we have players leaving who we dont know about that have accelerated the plans. Time will tell.
  15. No one is burying their head in the sand and no body is happy with the performances or results. we do not know what the remit was for PL when he joined but the common consensus is it was to clear out the trouble makers and deadwood, reduce the wage structure, get in players with a sell on value in the future, build the club from scratch basically whilst remaining in the Premier League.. to all these things PL has succeeded. Unfortunately he could not have foreseen the injuries to key players and loss of form. An example being Okore too late to replace him so he went with what he had. Now it may have become necessary to advance the plans earlier than expected to keep on the correct path. How do we know what RL may or may not make available to PL in this window, we are judging him with no evidence apart from PL stating we had no money which he would be expected to do so we don't get fleeced in Jan, Whilst we are not happy with our performances and results and are hurting I find it difficult to believe that the management are not also feeling this way and are doing everything to right this situation.
  16. I would be surprised if the players wanted was not already passed to PF.
  17. Young and hungry has not failed it just needs modifying, we are no worse with these players than the teams around us, we just need some experience to move us on and improve the young and hungry players.
  18. Thing is PL looks like a man with a plan, he is upset as the fans are turning and probably feels frustrated as he knows whats coming but can not speak about it. I can not believe he is happy watching our team play at the moment and believe that he will sort it or quit at the end of the season. He has never been known as a defensive hoof ball manager in the past so it is probably more of a needs must situation. lets see what develops before we hang him as he deserves this chance after what he has had to endure since he joined us.
  19. My thinking entirely and glad you have backed this up, we have started from scratch and tried to survive. now we should see the steps put in place to move us on. PL could be hailed as the best thing that ever happened to AV if it works out, bit like Ron S was. we just need to hold our nerve and trust him. I think the trouble we now have was expected and he hopeded to survive until Jan window without getting spanked when he could change things.
  20. Hopefully those that wont make it will be replaced with some that will. the difference is it will be done in a manner that spending is controlled. To quote figures from the past is meaningless and does not prove anything. we started last year with a new young team so the figures will represent this. what I will do is compare the 2 seasons in the summer and look then for improvement.
  21. Why do we keep having discussions about wages, better paid does not equate to better player, it normally means an older player who moves from club to club increasing his value and wages every transfer. players do not move for less money. what we needed to do was get rid of the journeymen and the players on the top dollar contributing little, if anything PL went too fast but whether it was his choice is another debate. if we get any players in then they will be 23 - 26 years old to improve us with the extra experience and know how. it will not be because they earn more and therefore are better players. it will be down to if they can improve us and are better than what we have..
  22. Stoke and numerous clubs are just making up the table along with us. We all go through good and bad runs and will pretty much all end up either relegated or a few points above. It is a merry go round. We needed to change and move on to the next level. Maybe PL can do this or maybe not time will tell. we should at least though give him till the end of the season to prove his philosophy is not doomed rather than start all over again as we and other clubs keep doing.
  23. They are playing better football granted but as results go they aint no better than us and when they invariably loose a couple of players with injuries and suspensions will probably fair worse. We have cut back to the bare bones and have suffered numerous injuries and suspensions, hopefully things will improve, I am not saying they will but hoping. If we can survive this season as stated then we will move on and should be in alot better position next season.
  24. It is no coincidence that players are at their peak at 27 - 28 years old, they are not as fit or fast as when they were younger or even more skillful, it is down to having the experience to draw from and having learned the tricks of the trade. we have no one to teach these things to the players and have to let them learn it themselves. these older players are better as they have learned to read the game and have learned from mistakes, mistakes our players are making every game.
