  1. Got mine this morning - looks tidy and certainly do not have any quality issues. Looks to me like Macron put in a lot of effort with our shirts. Only beef is - Same as LockStockVilla - would prefer a tighter fit. I have quite broad shoulders and shirt fits ok in the medium, but the sleeves are very loose. Think we should have had the Napoli fit.
  2. Beirut - the Rip Tide. Check out the song 'Santa Fe' .... It's amazing, and then 'Goshen' closely followed by 'East Harlem'.
  3. It's getting closer......
  4. I think we played brilliantly. We were defensive but that was the whole point. France were resorting to shooting out side the box and never really looked like scoring to be fair. If it wasn't for Hart being blind sighted and really Nasri should have been closed down sooner we would have won! It was 30 degrees so why did we feel the need to go all out. We can save some energy now for the later, cooler kick offs and try to push on more with our counter attacking style which I'm pretty certain is the way we will play under Roy. Come on England!
  5. This is what I believe as well, but Smithys point is centred around knowing that the clause was indeed a condition? I understood it that all clauses are conditions that go to the root of the contract - but not 100% sure on that. (skipping out warranty clauses as they don't help anyone )
  6. Trent - are you just trying to boost your post count?
  7. Surely a clause is a clause? No one party can go breaking the agreed clauses within a contract willy nilly? Any breaching of a clause within a contract is a fundamental breach and deeming it null and void? I also wouldnt be surprised if there was a clause to say that no clause can be broken... Id imagine a football manger would ensure his ass is covered by that, which shows as to why he was so confident in moving things forward with Aston Villa. A clause is a clause but not all breaches are fundamental breaches. In the co text of a football manager employed to manage a team there are probably very few breaches by the club that would qualify - possibly only failure to pay his wages! There may be other clauses in the contract which enable termination in HHS event of material breaches but it would bd very rare that these enabled immediate termination without the ability for either party to remedy the breach first. Anyway I'm sure Lambo/villa took legal advice and time will tell if it was correct but (even if the rumoured clause dies exist) i still dont think he was entitled to terminate his contract as claimed. It would not surprise me though if lambert/villa know that and settle this quietly before it sees a court, probably as part of any deal for Culverhouse. Yea, truth is... We don't really know. I'm clutching at straws and I'd imagine you are doing the same - unless of course you know the true facts? (in which case, who are you?!) I'm not a lawyer, but I do work in recruitment so have the minimal amount of contract writing/knowledge which I need to help in some elements of my job but I'm assuming the contracts which I see are poles apart from contracts for a football manager on 800k a year. We shall see what happens... But have a feeling Culverhouse and Karsa will not be joining the Villa.

  9. I OBJECT! A contract can be built from any amount of clauses and should one be broken from either of the party's it is a breach of contract and can in some circumstances render the contract null and void. We approached your people for Lambert. Your people said 'no' breaking the clause in Lamberts contract which says he can speak to any premiership team should they wish to speak to him. Lamberts representatives said 'hold up, your breaching contract there, we will speak to Villa ta very much'.... As far as Villa are concerned - Lambert was fair game which appears to be the case, hence he is now our manager.
  10. Not sure if this was posted ages ago but I have only just discovered this piece of genius. Interesting if you're into your finance anyway... A jolly good read. (I don't know how to do short links either, would a mod be able to do one for me and send me some instructions via message?) http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/aston-villa-prophets-and-losses.html?m=1
  11. To be fair to him he will go down as another manger who kept us in the premiership which is now part of our history. We are one of the longest serving clubs to play in this league and he has indeed contributed to that. But my god the football was dire. The worst I have ever seen. Kept us in the prem for one more season... That's all he did do, thank god.
  12. I'd be a little annoyed if they waited till Wednesday. Owners don't have weekends and bank hols. It's more out of respect to the Queen. If villa go announcing things over the next 2/3 days, Charles and William etc will constantly be refreshing the sky sports website for confirmation of the appointment. We shouldn't try to steal her Majestys thunder. Btw, wouldn't it be cool if we became Royal Aston Villa and had a crown above our badge
  13. MM - have you been sat in the pub since early afternoon? .... Hoddle?? Really?? Have we definitely interviewed behind closed doors though? Any hunches who might have been involved there?
  14. I really do not think Lambert is an option for us. I appreciate what Wiz is saying about the man, and I think he is correct in what he is saying. I have a buddy who is a norwich fan and he is basically saying the same thing. However, things do happen in football so it really is a case of wait and see. I do not want us to hire someone who is working in the prem at the moment. I want someone fresh who is going to come in and really try to do something. Martinez - been in the prem a few years now and consistently fighting at the bottom, normally with newly promoted teams. He is young and maybe has a few tactical skills, but he is not the man for us. Lambert - safe option, but need to see how he gets on next season to determine if I think he is any good or not. Rodgers - best out the three, but again needs another season with Swansea to see what damage he can really do. I believe he will go on to be a decent manager. I DO NOT WANT ANY OF THESE AT VILLA NEXT SEASON. RANDY PLEASE TREAT US AFTER THE LAST MESS UPS.
  15. I was dreaming of an OGS/Laursen partnership. That would have been something... Be happy with Laursen and one of either Benitez/Laudrup/Poyet mind. Lambert would be a boring, disappointing appointment.
  16. Imarsha those recent kits are incredible. Love what you have done with the circular badge and like someone said it's most reminiscent of our glory days. Saying that, I also liked the green one you made. (I think that was you?)
  17. Nike deal doesn't run out until 31st May I think? Granted, but seems a bit out of place on advertising the details of our new kit launch surely? Can only assume that as part of the agreement AVFC are obliged to use the Nike logo on all promotional material until the end of said agreement. Though they probs could have waited until Friday to release that...
  18. Mantis, dude, we will never know why the deal fell through. Only OGS and the people around him, and some Villa staff will know the reasons why. (and probs SAF).... And that's even if there was a 'deal' in the first place. We don't even know why our manager of 4 seasons left us a week before the start of a new season. Sometimes the fans miss out on the good bits that make football interesting off the pitch. - it's just the way it is bud. Gonna have to give up praying for this one Man(tis).
  19. The way I see it is - we **** up somewhere along the lines with OGS. We discussed things with him, but there was something there that I think 'scared' him away... We don't know what, never will. Move on. So, next for us is to do some research. I'm happy for this to take as long as needed to ensure we get the correct person. If we take our time and end up with Southgate, I am going to be livid. That is not progress, that is not the man to have us playing attractive football and certainly isn't someone who can implement a philosophy that will be admired by many. I can't wait to see some news on how we are getting on in our search, I'm bored now of going through a working day, checking Twitter at certain times to see if there is any news and there not being. Very boring. But this makes me think that our guys are working hard to get us the right man. Time will tell...
  20. The heads don't look quite right either, and would Henrys foot really not visible at all through Martinez's legs, is there any shadow? (looking on my phone so the pic isn't that great anyway but those things stand out.... ) ....or it's just real and we should get over the fact my fourth choice isn't coming?
  21. Hmmm, don't wanna be kicked off the site or anything for having a say but... Here goes. I kinda agree with the thread locking craziness - that OGS thread got you over 4000 replies in a very short space of time, there was proper conversation, a bit of Banter, bickering and also a bit of unity in some areas. Now it's locked and we have the same old threads to choose from where convo/debate isn't so hot at the moment - it can't be until we get a manager!. It's almost like you don't want to have loadsa hits/posts on the site. Don't get me wrong, I love the site it's part of my daily routine... I'm not registered with any other Villa forum nor do I even go out my way to see what other forums are saying. I enjoy reading posts from the likes of DVIN, Cracker1234, POB (though havnt seen him in a while), Gareth to name a few! And of course the ITK guys in MM, Gazton and thetrees, AND the Mods! - but... The thread locking here is mentalo. Let it flow, and if it gets totally rediculous then lock it - don't prevent actual debate though Cheers thanks, loves X
  22. Ahh, So annoying being in an office when it's nice out! Ole, if you join we promise that CI will do everything he can to ensure you are comfortable in hot weather!
  23. Yes, I bet their frothing at the mouth at the thought of us sending over all our shyte players and for us to cream off their best players! Who could turn down a set-up like that? Im thinking more along the lines of the young players - and not Collins. Its a bit late now, but Albrighton for example could have benefitted from playing out there for a bit. Just adds a bit more to their game and learning from different experiences and surroundings.
  24. I think I have a solution to Molde's managerial problem. Sounds like they need an experienced manager accustomed to working on a small budget. Eck it is, then. Sorry! Bad joke! Privateer!!! That really is disgusting behaviour on a fans forum! Thats a terrible thing to wish upon our new friends over in Norway! What is wrong with you man?!!
