I really do not think Lambert is an option for us. I appreciate what Wiz is saying about the man, and I think he is correct in what he is saying. I have a buddy who is a norwich fan and he is basically saying the same thing. However, things do happen in football so it really is a case of wait and see. I do not want us to hire someone who is working in the prem at the moment. I want someone fresh who is going to come in and really try to do something. Martinez - been in the prem a few years now and consistently fighting at the bottom, normally with newly promoted teams. He is young and maybe has a few tactical skills, but he is not the man for us. Lambert - safe option, but need to see how he gets on next season to determine if I think he is any good or not. Rodgers - best out the three, but again needs another season with Swansea to see what damage he can really do. I believe he will go on to be a decent manager. I DO NOT WANT ANY OF THESE AT VILLA NEXT SEASON. RANDY PLEASE TREAT US AFTER THE LAST MESS UPS.

I was dreaming of an OGS/Laursen partnership. That would have been something... Be happy with Laursen and one of either Benitez/Laudrup/Poyet mind. Lambert would be a boring, disappointing appointment.

Nike deal doesn't run out until 31st May I think? Granted, but seems a bit out of place on advertising the details of our new kit launch surely? Can only assume that as part of the agreement AVFC are obliged to use the Nike logo on all promotional material until the end of said agreement. Though they probs could have waited until Friday to release that...

Mantis, dude, we will never know why the deal fell through. Only OGS and the people around him, and some Villa staff will know the reasons why. (and probs SAF).... And that's even if there was a 'deal' in the first place. We don't even know why our manager of 4 seasons left us a week before the start of a new season. Sometimes the fans miss out on the good bits that make football interesting off the pitch. - it's just the way it is bud. Gonna have to give up praying for this one Man(tis).

The way I see it is - we **** up somewhere along the lines with OGS. We discussed things with him, but there was something there that I think 'scared' him away... We don't know what, never will. Move on. So, next for us is to do some research. I'm happy for this to take as long as needed to ensure we get the correct person. If we take our time and end up with Southgate, I am going to be livid. That is not progress, that is not the man to have us playing attractive football and certainly isn't someone who can implement a philosophy that will be admired by many. I can't wait to see some news on how we are getting on in our search, I'm bored now of going through a working day, checking Twitter at certain times to see if there is any news and there not being. Very boring. But this makes me think that our guys are working hard to get us the right man. Time will tell...

I kinda agree with the thread locking craziness - that OGS thread got you over 4000 replies in a very short space of time, there was proper conversation, a bit of Banter, bickering and also a bit of unity in some areas. Now it's locked and we have the same old threads to choose from where convo/debate isn't so hot at the moment - it can't be until we get a manager!. It's almost like you don't want to have loadsa hits/posts on the site. Don't get me wrong, I love the site it's part of my daily routine... I'm not registered with any other Villa forum nor do I even go out my way to see what other forums are saying. I enjoy reading posts from the likes of DVIN, Cracker1234, POB (though havnt seen him in a while), Gareth to name a few! And of course the ITK guys in MM, Gazton and thetrees, AND the Mods! - but... Yes, I bet their frothing at the mouth at the thought of us sending over all our shyte players and for us to cream off their best players! Who could turn down a set-up like that? Im thinking more along the lines of the young players - and not Collins. Its a bit late now, but Albrighton for example could have benefitted from playing out there for a bit. Having potentially nicked their manager who has 'transformed' the club and just won them their first ever league title i could imagine them being pretty pissed at us. I doubt they'll want to hold hands just yet.... Yeaaa - Orrr, they are pretending to be pissed, but actually if we are giving them 2? Maybe 3 mill? (or is that wide of the mark?) they might actually be ok?. I'm sure there is a nucleus now in terms of a decent squad which should see them continue their push for another title. They just need to get the right man again. I still recon they could benefit by 'teaming up' with us.

I think it would be sweet if we developed a proper relationship with Molde as a result of all this, what's it called - affiliate club or something? (FM fans?) might benefit them if we perhaps send some of our players out on loan to a top club in another country, and in turn, we buy all their best players or have first refusal. We should start building some relationships - and this would be a decent start! Heaven knows they are gonna get a couple of million out of this if it comes true. They might love us for it!

Even if we do atleast we will have a young, hungry and successful character to manage us and get us back to where we belong. If we do go down it will be down the players if we don't change it up enough. Where as this season it was a combination of the players and management that delivered gash football. I'm for this - lets get it done.

A lot of people slating Warnock for his shocker against Swansea. Terry had one against Liverpool the other night, infact - he was **** shite, and, he embarrasses himself in a vital game at the Nou Camp- But he has been selected for England over Rio Ferdinand. My point, I don't think Warnock is all that bad and he actually did give a crap about how he was playing. There arnt many other left backs that I would take that have a huge amount of prem experience. Same for Hutton, I really don't think he was that bad and that there were far bigger problems within the team/set up which explain why we were dogshit last season.

Must admit if we still had Milner in that team we woulda been alright. KMAC should not manage our 1st team. Happy for him to assist in some capacity.
