That is just insane in my opinion. Wenger you are going to look like a fool unless this kid shows he can be a really good winger in the near future. I just don't get it. Why go for the more expensive unproven winger which he probably won't even use instead of going for the cheaper better option?

Gabby Agbonlahor and Barton have a terrible history. What would that do to the dressing room? No thank you. He is a good player but a terrible person who'd just bring problems. And why is this being discussed in Ireland's thread?

he's never going to hit 100% of his passes, people say he played really well because he played a LOT of great first touch football to buy time and space for people around him. I don't expect him to have all perfect passes but Makoun put some players in some really bad positions with his passing. Yes his first touch was great but he did not help the attack much at all. I expect a little more from him.

He did okay. I don't get how people can say he played really well. He made a few really bad passes that caused counters and he didn't really help out the attack much. He didn't do much but he wasn't messing up the midfield.

Dunne & Collins look very good under MON, who knew how to organise defenders. This was mostly with just Petrov as ball winner in front of them. They looked piss poor under Houllier, who was clearly struggling to organise them, even to the point where there was clashes with the coaching staff about it. Houllier even remarking that he couldn't deal with the issues until the summer. This was mostly with Petrov AND NRC in font of them. Now they're playing for McLeish, who does know how to organise defenders. On top of that, we've added Given, a better keeper than Friedel. I reckon the defence will be fine. And I think Petrov/Makoun is actually a pretty handy midfield pairing. Good post. I think McLeish will get the most out of or defense and Makoun will finally flourish in our midfield.

Finally. I have been hearing he will be signing by this and this day for over 2 weeks now. I am very happy we got such a quality keeper.

Guzan is a good keeper but sitting on the bench really isn't helping him. He has his flaws but he also has some really good attributes. He is an excellent shot stopper, but he is bad at crosses. He needs to be consistently playing to improve his game. I hope we can either loan him or play him in our cup matches again because I would like to see him given a shot at goal.

It wasn't the backline. It was Bryan Jordan who is a make shift RB. He started out as a striker who Bruce Arena converted into a RB because we lacked depth there. We also lacked our best CB Omar gonzalez today. It was a shit game but obviously we'd lose. Bruce Arena played our starters against their subs and then our subs against their starters.

Czechlad would love to see Super Tom here Underrated at Arsenal because he has some pretty damn good players ahead of him. He scored in their last friendly and got an assist. He'd do soooo well here.

Yes Guzan is still with us. McLeish stated that Guzan's future is not done here so who knows what will happen with him. I'd like to have Guzan because with Given's injury troubles, we need a decent backup.
