Have you tried to unlock it with other peoples' fingers though? Or when our hands are sticky or wet or whatever? Biometrics lead to a sense of security which is often false. Police evidence rules require 17 points of similarity to provide a likely fingerprint match. I doubt the sensors on phones are remotely near that as they don't need to be. It would be interesting to know how many people match your pattern in the population and what the chances are that a random could unlock your phone. It's not something that gets discussed though. My phone is unlocked when in range (BT connected) of my Pebble. Otherwise it needs a PIN.

I wanted to remove it for two reasons. It was broken in that it showed the content of spoilers. Activities seem to be a much better way to interact with the site if you like your content time line based rather than forum structured. I might change my mind again

I don't have an answer to your question as I've not looked into it If you (or anyone) has time to put together some instructions on how to use Activities to replace the latest posts sidebar, that would be great.

I'd like to remove it altogether. All the functions it provides are done better using the "Activity" link at the top of every page. I've not been able to get people to try it though. As it's a feature I don't use myself I don't want to spend time learning how to use it so I need others to do this.
