Zatman
So was there a lock in last time? What should i expect to pay for a pint in pubs in dublin? I see Murrys have discounts all weekend, how much will it be in there? I see the comment about it being expensive for drink in dublin but you can easily pay 350 a pint in pubs in Hereford which equates to €4 - 450. Do you think we'll be ok in villa shirts around dublin after the game. Would getting into clubs be a problem? Hotel is pointless with flying at 7am. I really did think pubs would be open later than 3am. Hopefully Murrys will be It will probably be no more than €4 for a pint in Murrays. You'll be ok in Villa shirts in the city of course. Getting in to most clubs though would definitely be a problem though. I'm hoping for a lock in myself, I was legless by about midnight last time so cant remember if there was one! Murrays do cheap pitchers of beer and is combined to 2 other bars and can go there to pick up pitchers as well. As a Sunday night you could probably get in most places even with a jersey on. In other places pints can go from €4-6.50, all depends what bar it is
Hereford-Villan
Just called ticket office. They're saying their allocation is 750. I don't meet the criteria so can't get them through the club and waiting until the 24th of July to risk getting through the club ain't worth it. Can we get them through ticketmaster Ireland? DublinVillian
A few words copied from the AVSC Irish Lions Website. "The Dublin Villa Weekender is a FREE 2 day event on Sat 3rd & Sun 4th August. With special guests and events held over the two days in Murrays Bar - You wont want to miss either day! More Info on match tickets, hotels, special guests, events, travelling from airport, the massive Villa march to the match - Click here for all the info : http://ow.ly/mF6Vp" Now this is the bit i'm most looking forward too! They are so organised and made it so easy for everyone going over.. fair play to 'em. The march to the game vs bohs in 2010 was awesome, but this has the potential to be unbelievable! "The Irish Lions Club is pleased to announce: Getting to Tallaght Stadium on match day August 4th. We will all be leaving Murrays Bar together with UK fans too - marching down O'Connell Street en masse! (This will be filmed for our Youtube channel and AVTV) We have liased with Veola/Luas and there will be 6 trams taking 2300 passengers between 12-1pm. We are aware there are only 2 ticket machines between you all, so Murrays bar have made available discount Luas tram day tickets to purchase from the bar with your pint cheaper than the machine price. You can purchase in advance in Murrays bar on 2nd, 3rd or 4th of August! No queing at the ticket machine - UTV!" If you want to see what they have planned then go to there web page http://astonvilla.ie/shamrock-rovers-vs-aston-villa-august-2013/ Looks like there will be cheaper drink for us there too!! Well up for this one!!!
DublinVillian
In other places pints can go from €4-6.50, all depends what bar it is Agree with this and BOF. If you're stupid, you'll pay the price. Murrays Bar will be by far the cheapest bar and if you stick to their offers you'll pay less than in an English pub. Usually only €10 for a jug of beer in Murrays Bar, but if you head to the tourist trap of Temple bar you'll pay 50-100% more.

FULL OF VILLANS :D There are 1,000+ tickets left in the East Stand amongst the Shamrock Rovers fans and astonvilla.ie are waiting on information back from Aston Villa as to how many tickets are left in the original 750 allocation given to the club for travelling fans. All in all it looks like this is going to be a very well supported match from Villa's point of view. It's going to be an immense (bank holiday) weekend. Now just to get the weather ... BOF Posted July 29, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2013 For those flying to Dublin for the Weekender:Travel from Dublin Airport to Dublin City Centre via busThere is the green Airlink Bus (747) that runs every 10 mins. You cannot miss the bus stop as you come out of arrivals at Dublin Airport. (Roughly 20 minute journey)The Airlink Bus stops directly outside Murrays Bar/Living Room O'Connell St.AlternativelyIf there are 4/5 or more travelling in a group then it will be cheaper and quicker to get a taxi. Usually €25-€30 per car between you. There are attendants in the taxi rank at arrivals to assist if you need 5 or 6 seaters.
