Ingram85 Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 I picked up this game after cancelling another preorder and I'm delighted I did so. Honk Kong looks fantastic, the story is solid, it's pretty addictive and the combat is deeply satisfying. Like leemond, though, I have a feeling the story can be rushed through pretty quickly so I'm hanging back and spreading myself over a bunch of side activities. Also there are some teething problems with the PC version they need to sort out, mostly down to dodgy camera while driving. I haven't found much use for guns yet. In fact of all the game mechanics, the gunplay alone feels kind of janky. I've found a couple of guns in lockboxes but finding them didn't end well for me. When I found the second one I thought it would be a great idea to massacre one of the unarmed hacking-site gangs with it - that just made everything way harder than it had to be, since the police started on me for the very first time outside of a mission or hijack. I had to run off, come back and reattempt it bare handed. TBH that suits me fine because I'm having way too much fun beating the crap out of triads with my bare hands, in ridiculously brutal ways. leemond2008 Posted August 20, 2012 Author Share Posted August 20, 2012 yeah I have only came across 1 mission where you actually need to use a gun (apart from the tutorial bit that they shoved in there) and actually using the gun is a lo more difficult than just smacking the **** out of someone. Ginko Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 I find it weird that even though we drive on the left in the UK, I immediately started to drive on the right side when playing this game. I must be too used to GTA I think. Driving on the left in a game feels kind of wrong for some weird reason. The camera during driving isn't so bad under normal circumstances. I only get a real problem with reversing and to begin with the camera seemed to point downwards too much. I like to be able to see more into the distance but I've gotten used to it now. Ghost Posted December 9, 2013 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I got the Platinum for this. I was able to complete almost every objective without resorting to DLC. The only thing I wasn't able to do properly was max out the Triad skill tree. Tried going back and re-playing missions with the Triad xp costume but wasn't getting anywhere.
