Israel didn't exist in 1945 And suffered repeated surprise attacks by their combined Arab neighbours trying to drive them into the sea since 1948. Israel didn't exist in 1945 The process of establishing Israel began in WW1, with the UK and US making plans to establish a Jewish state in Palestine, while deceiving Arabs about their intentions. The UK supported this idea in order to gain support from the US and Russia in the war. It was on the basis of false assurances from the UK that Arabs were initially encouraged to welcome Jews to Palestine. Since then, it's been a long process of betrayal of these assurances, and pretty much unquestioning support for what has now become the establishment of an apartheid state, based on theft and dispossession, seemingly beyond the reach of international law. It quotes local people from the area where the chemical weapons were released, including direct quotes from the named father of a dead rebel, saying the CWs were in the possession of the rebels, who didn't know what they were, and set them off by mistake.The more senior of the two journos bylined in that piece has said she didn't contribute, it was written by the other one, and Mint Press have so far failed to comply with requests to issue a correction about authorship.
