One things for sure there has to be a cut off now, where all bids are in and to be considered. Then the winning bid sorted. We need a manager in place soon, we've already missed the transfer deadline probably. The deadline should have been 2 months ago if you ask me, but logic doesn't seem to go hand in hand with Villa. What a tit about arse way of going about our business the last 3 months has been. Well it sums up the last 20 odd years really lol.

If this delays MONs appointment i will not be pleased

Same here.

The most imporatnt thing at the moment is to get O'Neill on board.

I hope Ellis isn't just trying to avoid selling or playing bids off each other again.

The most important thing for a long, long time has been the removal of Ellis.

Well on SSN they have repeated that the 3 Americans being shown around aren't to do with Lerners bid - and Ellis was driving them in his car, which he stayed in apparently...... saw the picture of the car, couldn't tell who was driving it though.

So - unless this is a tactic to throw people off (after all Lerner didn't want to make comment) we can't know for sure unless they declare thier interest if this is a 5th bid or not.

Regarding today's visitors, I know nothing, but I am pretty convinced that the aircraft that arrived from Dubai this morning is related.

The aircraft is American registered to a bank that specialises in financing such machines, but after digging the last known 'owners' were an Australian company called 'Beyond Holdings', a mobile phone company.

As far as I can see the aircraft hasn't been to Australia for a long time, so the ownership may have changed, but it does kick around the Far East a lot, so it's possible that Dubai was a refuelling stop.

If RL's people are over, it was by scheduled flight, which I doubt. No private jets have come to the UK from 'obvious' Lerner originating points.

Overall he hasn't said anything we haven't already seen on this MB - often in advance of his so called exclusives and reports!

What absolute rubbish. There's a world of difference between people speculating, whispering and cooking up wild theories on a message board and a journalist calling up contacts, prodding people who are "in the know" and writing an article based on what they're able to dig up.

I'm willing to state - here and now - that there will be a bomb attack in Baghdad in the next few days which will kill upwards of ten people. If and when that actually happens, would you then claim that I managed to scoop all of the journalists who cover that event?

I couldn't agree more!

Ellis is the biggest hurdle for the club..... even if we have to hold back now until the January transfer window and the manager announcement is delayed because of this - so long as the delay isn't too bad then I don't have a problem with it.

My main concern is seeing Ellis out! Then and only then will I know the club can move forward.

Well, in my opinion last Weds was a deadline of sorts. This deadline appears to have been extended by a week, either becasue of new interest or because of problems previously or both.

No and I would never even suggest that.

However, all I have seen from Howell lately hasnt been anything I haven't already read on here well in advance of the publication of that.

I don't suggest that he has or is using this or another MB for his information either - but what I am saying is so far I haven't seen anything from him I hadn't already seen on here first.

Thats all...... nothing more.

SSN tell us the Americans were shown around the training ground by the stadium manager (Tony Diffley ?) and that Mr Ellis stayed in the car throughout.

I must admit, that raised a chuckle, not sure if they're just keeping him out of the way, or whether he can't get around a building site very well. If it's the former, good. If it's the latter, they should conduct all future negotiations at Bodymoor heath.

Doug has made one public statement since the players statement came out, and that was his shambolic appearance at the airport.

He hasn't come out fighting, he hasn't commented on any of the issues from the sacking of O'Leary, or publicly on either takeover or manager. He's not released anything about the annual report, he's basically not wanting to deal with any of the issues of the club.

Make no mistake, he's stopped working on the club other than the sale. This is the end. His final days.

and they're making him stay in the car.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Is Ellis gone yet? Will someone please wake me when its over. This is going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

We have 5 consortiums.

Tony Morley apparantly in the know (I thought Ellis had him banned from VP?)

Bill Howell's exclusive, yet with no quotes whatsoever.

Any other club we'd be laughing, but this is Vill and it has to drag on for 6 months. 2 seasons ago it was Berson, last season Baros and now this.

Sort it out Villa FFS.

OutByEaster? I admit that not hearing any comments from Ellis in all of this is............ surprising!

We know just how much he normally loves to come in and spout off about all he has done and how its all going along marvellously - yet his silence in all of this has been deafening!

Despite all his previous hold over the club, it does give me some hope this really is the end of Ellis at VP.

The more the merrier. We can't really say it's too late for a new consortium. Who knows how long this 5th lot have been working on the bid. After all, Randy was sniffing around weeks before we ever heard of him.

It would be great to get this tied up before the season starts (after all, we have a relegation battle to win) but while people still want to buy the club, the club should take it's time to get the best deal.

I feel a bit sorry for Mike Neville. He pretty much started the take over bandwagon, spent the best part of a year working on it and then probably get's brushed aside - never to be seen again.

Mr trees you have been like a breath of fresh air on here the last couple of weeks. Its like we've all chipped in and got ourselves a private investigator.

Seconded, at the post Ellis party there's a pint for you Mr trees.

Thirded (is that even a word?)

But MikeMcKenna and Mr Trees have certainly given us some wonderful clarifying posts as and when they could and it has helped when trying to wade through all this information.
